    OH man, I had to hear him say that ALL day on XM today. I was ready to smash the damn unit if I had to hear Steinbrenner mouth off one more time.

    I think that's a bit overreactive.... Because he missed a few days of soring training...s*** if he hits like he hit last year he can miss the whole godamn thing for all I care. People need to chill out and get over it. It's not even a story!! Who cares?? So he missed a few days? What's the big deal?

    Well I will just reiterate what everyone else is saying....oh yeah and quit being a baby about post count...who gives a s***!? If you really are that obsessed with your post count...go to an old game thread and spam it....

    He is apparently doing some extensive training...at least that's what Dibble and Kennedy reported on The Show on my way home from work today. If I was a teammate of Manny's, I think I would have to accept that he was a superstar, and they have their own status. Yeah, it's Manny being Manny...but IMO, he has earned the right to be "Manny". And I think his teammates are used to it by now, and don't let it affect their training. And if he missed the entire spring training...I think I would still have faith he'd come in April 1st and hit a home run or two.... So I really don't care! As long as we still have him and he's still got those numbers.

    Welcome, welcome!!! :) It's alright to be in enemy territory! I'm here, too!!! :thumbsup: The cool thing about the capital district is there are almost as many sox fans here as there are Pinhole fans.

    Yeah...I just saw that... Lindsay Jacobellis..she was 140 ft ahead ready to take the gold, and tried to do a lein air on the second to last jump, fell, and lost the gold. USA would have taken the gold in every snowboarding event if she wasn't trying to be a show off.

    I was never a big Johnny Damon fan. I had respect for what he did for the team, and he certainly helped us win some VERY big games. But I could never understand why so many people were so obsessed with him! He's not cute at all...as a matter of fact, I think he looks like a caveman. And I can't wait to laugh at him all clean shaven as a Pinhole. My heart certainly didn't snap in two when I heard the news.

    I prefer the winter games to the summer games. I am a sucker for snowboarding, skiing, and the figure skating. :dunno: They are such beautiful sports! Today I watched the figure skating.

    We certainly do want Manny in Boston. I think giving him up would be the wrong thing to do. Unless of course we got a seriously sweet deal in return....but like I said before, I really don't think any other club is going to be willing to pay what the asking price would be. This is a good thing IMO.

    I can't wait for the snowboarding. Right now it's women's hockey on USA Switzerland vs. the USA.

    No club in their right mind is going to give the Sox what they would ask for him. That "deal" they offered the Angels was a joke.

    I think people should be more realistic. To expect Coco to come in and be exactly what Johnny Damon was is a bit far fetched. Each player has their own strengths, and to put that kind of pressure on anyone is a recipe for disappointment.

    I do agree that the numbers aren't as good, but he did have some health problems, and I think that if he can spring back from that we might be able to see the old Nixon again. Only time will tell. It might be a good idea for him to not be playing full time if his health is anything like it has been for the past year.

    I have to agree about the pressure being on Coco. I mean, in all reality, they didn't actually expect him to be the next Johnny Damon...but he does have big shoes to fill. I hope he pulls through. :thumbsup:
