  1. Has anyone else realized how good the contract situation for Clay Buchholz is for the Red Sox? He is going to make 7.5 this season, 12 next season and then the team holds 13 and 13.5 million dollar options for 2016-2017 and can control him through his age 32 season at a relatively cheap price. One of Theo's finest contracts.
  2. http://bostonherald.com/sports/red_sox_mlb/boston_red_sox/2014/03/signing_jon_lester_david_ortiz_part_of_building_dynasty This article made me pretty aroused.
  3. Lester had 1 bad season. Other than that he has been a 20 million/year pitcher since 2008. I like Lesters build, he probably will be effective until his middle 30's. My only concern is the guy has had zero injury problems. This is normally a great thing but you have to wonder at some point in a 5 year contract if he will need TJS. It's a gamble, but for a guy like Lester,a proven 1A who takes it up to 1 level in the postseason, I pay him. 5 at 100, or maybe 6/110 gets this thing done.
  4. I have such a man crush on Ben Cherington
  5. I can't believe it took them 5 full seasons to correct this mistake. I know uniforms shouldn't matter, but it adds an element to watching the game when the uniform is sharp. This is why I am fully against advertising on uniforms.
  6. Can everyone step back and realize that aside from the money, this hurts a little. Let's all admit it. That being said solid baseball move not getting involved for that kind of money. Loved Ells, thought he was a game changer when he was healthy, but I think we can spend our money better than that. I would rather have Matt Kemp at age 29 for 6-128 (hint, hint Ben then Ells at age 30 for 8-169.
  7. Now that Ells is officially gone, let's assume the rest of the opening day lineup... For me it's going to be: Victorino-RF Pedroia-2B Ortiz-DH Kemp-LF Napoli -1B Xander-SS Drew-3B Pierzynski/Ross-C JBJ-CF Trade Middlebrooks, Nava, and Ranaudo for Kemp. Pretty solid if you ask me. Two rookies makes me a little nervous, but something tells me XB is going to be a super star.
  8. I wonder if the Yankees will ever just hit the re-start button and start building their franchise from bottom up.
  9. Jacoby Ellsbury is in no way worth 153 million. It's weird how okay I am will this. I was hoping to sign him for 5 years at 100 million. Guess that was wishful thinking. Hope JBJ is ready to lumber up.
  10. This will make the Yankees much better in 2014 offensively, but what have they done to make their s*** stain pitching better?
  11. Honesty our bullpen has been money other than the last two games, and it's not like the last two games Have been a complete meltdown. We don't get through Detroit without the outstanding work of Breslow, taz and Koji
  12. This umpire is squeezing lackeys ass so hard right now
  13. Napoli had to has to make a stop on that ball. Bad effort by Napoli
  14. This move makes sense if you are loosing.
  15. So is Farrel only Doing this because he is really excited to double switch here? Oh Boy!
  16. Does anyone else get this move here? I feel very uneasy about bringing Lackey in.
  17. Oooooh that was a good rip on that 1-0 pitch.
