  1. This is not a fact what so ever, but it seems to me that Ortiz and Manny have gotten much less to hit this season. That may be an excuse but that's just the way I have percieved it. I hope they both it 10 hrs each in July. That would be nice.
  2. Is any body eles worried about the declining power of Ortiz and Ramirez. I am.
  3. We have to start scoring runs, we can't expect to keep winning all of these 2-1 games for the rest of the season.
  4. Did you watch any of the games last season?
  5. I still think we can package, Green, Theo's contract and Tony Allen for another proven veteran and make a run for the East next season. I'm tired of the rebuilding that has really taken us nowhere. It will be fun to watch next season which is more than I can say about the last 20 seasons of Celtics basketball.
  6. I think the Celtics will easily win 47 games with Jefferson, Gomes, Pierce, Allen and Rondo. Especially in the Eastern Conference. Jefferson is going to be a star this year, let's not forget that he had an emergency apedectamy in nov. but from dec. on he was an All-Star player. With three All-star calibur players in the starting five, along with a strong supporting cast with Gomes (a very underated player who is an automatic 13, 8, 4) and Rondo who showed signs of becoming special late last year, this team will be a force in the East. Let's not forget about Perk who had Plantar Facisitous last season that limited his game. He was a very solid player two years ago when he was starting games for the C's. Losing Delonte does hurt, but I think he is at best the 6th man on a championship team so he was definitely expendable IMO.
  7. Doesn't Theo have a huge contract as well? Anyways the Celtics have to take this deal. The would be very stupid not to. I mean a lineup of Jefferson, Gomes, Pierce, Allen, Rondo/West would be a very competative team in the Eastern conference. I could see that team winning 45-50 games very easily.
  8. So true. Especially in recent memory.
  9. What happens to Youk or Lowell? Why the hell would the braves trade Saltamacchia for Crisp? Are you delusional?
  10. 06 Beckett would have melted down there. Great job by Josh to get out of it.
  11. Isn't it funny how last year everyone thought the sox got their asses handed to them in that trade?
  12. This is defenitely a game that I will be tuned into. There is nothing better than a pitching matchup of two legit power throwing aces.
  13. Our Bullpen could be setting up really nicely now. Delcarmen/Lopez 7th Jima 8th Papelbon 9th
  14. Throw out like three starts and DiceK's walk totals are not really that high. I remember a stretch of like 4-5 games where he did not walk anybody.
  15. Let's say Hypothetically that Crisp's streak here is fairly permanent and he returns to the player that he was in Cleveland a few years ago. Then what happens in 2008? Do you we trade Crisp and get good value in return, or do we trade Ellsbury and try to aquire a another piece for this team. It's a pretty interesting dilema the FO will have this offseason. Granted Coco has to continue to produce for the rest of the season, but if this is the case that will also mean we will have one hell of an offense for the rest of the season.
  16. Honestly why do we care? This is a thread about Papelbon. Do you really think any of us actually care about the Dodgers what so ever? Edit- I'll take the 26 year old making 350,000 every time.
  17. I pretty much have to agree here.
  18. Great Pitch, what a win tonight!!!
