There's the Rolaids Relief Award which isn't subjective to voter bias since it's based on statistics. I guess you could make the case that Rivera gets robbed, but maybe his performance is taken for granted, and in any case his career doesn't need to be validated by some trophy.

Everybody thought that what's would happen when Oklahoma lost to K-State in the Big 12 Championship two years ago. And then shocker.

VT has a "tougher" schedule in the ACC, and if all three teams win out Texas has the disadvantage in scheduling because their remaining opponents (with apologies to Kansas and A&M and...Baylor) are not THAT hard. Everyone hates the Big 12 for screwing with the system.

Yeah, maybe I would if I actually watched it I might enjoy it more; I'm indifferent to both teams. Not personally, per se, but why is teetering on cardiac arrest an "enjoyable experience"?

Beltran freeing up money? Ha. Last I checked he's contract is still handled by Bora$$. Highly doubt the Mets are going to jump off the Beltran train after just a year. Even with the whole Manny thing over the summer.

Eckstein's deal is less than half of Renteria or Cabrera's. But he does play in a different league, and he's just a good fit for what STL does. Boston doesn't...bunt very much.

Yeah and if Edmonds K-ed (wouldn't have been surprising), Pujols wouldn't even get to the plate. They needed to drive home the runs, that was the biggest problem - not hitting w/ ppl ON base. All the credit in the world to Eckstein, though. 2 strikes doesn't daunt him at all.

While I don't think that umpires determine the outcome in the literal sense, I prefer the "human element" in the game to come from the players. -
Why are basketball coaches in SUITS? It's not like that in any other sport...just looks a bit, odd given the situation.

...And Edmonds took a walk! No ejection today. Last year was insane with the walk-off in Game 6, and the outfield grab. Oswalt is really good though. Not that Mulder isn't, but hopefully getting hit won't affect his performance tomrrow.

They do but they haven't done anything with RISP. The pitching has always kept them in the game for the most part.
