  1. If he starts 140 games he'll hit 30 HRs without blinking an eye. At 22 years old he hit 26 HRs in 110 games. I don't think 40 is out of the question if he's an every day player.
  2. Cause it was posted on mlbtraderumors.com
  3. Somehow some people can agree on that, but no one will admit the same about pitchers.
  4. I'm a little more comfortable with a Japanese hitter than I am a pitcher, but I still don't want anything to do with this guy. The risk is too high, and the chances of actually getting the reward as insanely low.
  5. Well I'm not saying any of them are going to get them to the playoffs, but even some production in the minors is better than getting nothing.
  6. I don't think I'd move a 34 year old who has relieved most of his career to a starting role. That has career ending injury written all over it.
  7. Sorry i don't have the time to go back through hundreds of threads to find my examples. I don't remember who but someone even had the HR count in their sig. People were very anti-Pena.
  8. Yeah but they actually got something for him. They could have let him walk, but instead they were able to spin him off for some usefull pieces.
  9. Well ya know it's gonna be kinda hard for him to do those things when he's only gonna get in the game because JD Drew got hurt again. You gotta give the kid a chance before you can say he's not good enough, or not this or not that. I'm tired of people saying this guy isn't good enough. How can you say he can't/won't do what Manny does ... did we even let the kid play more than 3 games in a row this year? Do you understand how hard it is to come off the bench and hit. Or to show up at the stadium not knowing if you're gonna play ... only to find out your starting and hitting 5th? He's 24 years old, and he's going to turn into one of the most feared hitters in the game sooner than later. As soon as he gets a chance to start full time he's going to explode, and I just hope that it's in Boston. If Pena isn't starting in the OF this season it'll be a huge mistake ... which will be proven when he walks and blows up in a different uniform.
  10. Being able to trade a player who said he would be a major pain in the ass to the team that got him is truely amazing to me. Plus the fact that Sheff is an injury riddled 40 something former roid user. Any trade in which the Yankee were able to get rid of the cancer that is Sheffield is an amazing move.
  11. Dude we had an entire several page thread about how it was a horrible move. Then several threads followed bashing Wily because Arroyo had more HRs. What board do you post on?
  12. If we could get more than some nachos for Tavarez I would s*** my pants.
  13. I'm not saying Manny is a bad OFer. I'm just saying that we're able to look past his mistakes because of his bat, and the same will be said about Wily if we let him start this year. BTW there are at least a dozen occasions every year where Manny makes a horrible decision/play in the OF.
  14. I agree. I think he is one of the most overrated coaches in the history of baseball. He got Glavine, Maddux, and Smoltz ... not real hard to have success. Think about the great names he's brought up since ... such as .......................... and uh .......................................
  15. I don't think I can ever say a bad word about Cashman again. From the ASB to now he's made about a half dozen rapes for the yankees.
