I don't think there's another OF avaiable that is worthy of carrying his jock no matter where they're playing. I can't argue with the fact that JD is hands down the best DEFENSIVE choice to replace Trot.

I know but everyone was talking about the team like they were the Pirates, and only had 10 wins last year. It's impossible to be positive when you're in a tailspin, but people we're way overblowing it.

I've always been a Pirates fan, and became a Red Sox fan back when Pedro joined the team. I'll still be a Pirates fan, but every year I become less and less of a baseball fan.

I really don't think Cubs/ChiSox it's a big rivalry but whatever. I guess I'm wrong on that one. I don't really think Mets/Yankees is ... the Mets blow and the Yankees are great. It's kind of impossible to have a rivalry. Much like Steelers/Browns this weekend. We're close geographically so they wanna make it a rivalry. It's 11-1 since the browns have come back ... and it's 5-0 on Super Bowls. They need to let it go much like the Mets do. -
Best pitcher on the market? How many wins does he have in MLB? It'd be like saying we signed the best closer on the market when we signed Hansen ... completely unproven ... based on a guess, and wishfull thinking. Until he pitches in the bigs he's not the best anything. It doesn't matter how much the Sox spend, but it sure matters how much the Yankees spend doesn't it? "Meh ... it's just money. Hey the Yankees spent 30 million more than we did WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!"

If Cora is our starting SS we might as well mail the year in. I don't think we could find a bigger hole to throw in our lineup than Cora's miserable .220 or so average, no power, and very little speed.

But that means we'll likely be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpaying for Lugo ... I'd rather have a good SS for a little more money ... then a waaaaay overpriced s***** SS and a draft pick.

Rival? They'll play once every 5 years or so if they're lucky enough to get the right schedule. I really don't see how these teams are rivals ... maybe their fans, but definitely not their teams. Having a rival in a different league makes no sense unless you're both in the WS every year. -
I'm done being a fan of the Red Sox. Doesn't mean I'll stop posting all together. I enjoy pissing people off here by stating my opinion. And also enjoy watching everyone jump on and off the bandwagon 20 times each season.

HAHAHAHHA 2 million dollars a year ... for Alex f***ing Cora ... what a joke. I don't think Cora is worth more than 250k. I don't understand the point of signing s***** bench players before signing people who are actually gonna help the team. Like was there really a big demand for Alex Cora? I'm pretty sure if we didn't resign him he'd be with the Rockies, the Pirates ... or out of baseball.
