  1. He was known as Jeremi Gonzalez until he was traded to the Brewers in 2006. In 2005 with the Sox, he pitched 56 innings and had an ERA of 6.11. Tragic way to go...
  2. Associated Press
  3. lol, a 19 post game thread
  4. I would say the heart is RSN is starting to be based on an arrogance, the exact opposite of an inferiority complex. 2004 caused a 180 on the inferiority complex and 2007 was an exclamation point on that feeling. the aspect of the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry that the media absolutely eats up now is the fact that since 2004, this rivalry has been completely switched around. Whereas Babe Ruth, Bucky Dent, Aaron Boone, etc. took on a mythological meaning within the media prior to 2004, stuff like a bloody sock, a David Ortiz jersey buried under the new stadium and the "Curse of A-Rod" are quickly gaining steam as having mythological meaning in the rivalry as it is now.
  5. considering the amount of plays on words in this thread, id like to add the following... I'd f*** her silly
  6. geez, is Oakland gonna come to Boston at some point?
  7. I like his idea of the televised gala and Hall of Fame ceremony but not the nine-game series, it's too long (unless the Sox are in it, ZING!) considering the short enough attention span most people already have. personally, id have the gala on a Friday night, Hall of Fame voting ceremony Saturday afternoon, Game 1 Saturday night and Game 2 Sunday night ive long wanted baseball to have an Academy Awards-type event for their awards, like the NHL has cause to me, hearing it at 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon on ESPN Radio every year doesnt do it for me
  8. I didnt agree with what Pedro did, but I found that quote he said in a later interview very funny
  9. Manny will hit the HR, he'll get cheered like crazy, he'll get his curtain call. they'll play all the messages and finish with A-Rod, who the fans will boo and get a massive kick out of it and then everyone at Fenway will sit down with a big smile on their faces Manny has never been a conventional athlete, why should a ceremony honoring his accomplishment be conventional?
  10. Gathright was such a pest last night. Kinda wish Tavarez was still around to knock him around a bit again
  11. thanks for the clarification VA
  12. this is bugging me but I need to know what DFWMM means
  13. Timlin shaky in the 9th but Sox win
  14. going into tonight, Ortiz had 3 HRs and 8 RBIs in 5 games and has batted .352 for the month id go that way personally
  15. its really such a joy to be able to watch Ellsbury and Pedroia do what they do at the top of the order
  16. im still waiting for my turn from her
  17. I really hate watching Lopez pitch
  18. Colon was stretched to his limit at this point and it really started showing in the 5th. yea, the bullpen is taxed a bit but id take the tired bullpen over what Colon would've been throwing ....and Lugo f***ing sucks
  19. probably a little of both. he seemingly lost his fastball and had/has an inability to stay healthy
  20. well, his gimpy ass actually being in the rotation could probably change that a bit
  21. Jacoby with the leadoff dong, 1-0 Sox
