    here's the difference between George and Hank though... in 2004, when the Sox won game 7 of the ALCS at Yankee Stadium, the Sox fans in attendance refused to leave. When Yankee brass began to get upset that they weren't leaving, they asked George when to turn out the lights and George said let them stay as long as they like, they deserve it. I just don't see Hank doing that...

    although after thinking about it, I do wonder what the Sox would've done Saturday if they didn't DL Colon, send Masterson back down or DFA Timlin...

    all this means is Justin Masterson gets to stay with the big club for a little while longer. If Colon never got hurt, Masterson would've been optioned to 'Tucket on Saturday, when Dice-K gets activated. At this point, I'd take Masterson in the rotation over Colon anyway.

    I think the bigger story is almost the way they fired him. They not only fire the guy as soon as they leave on a west coast road trip but they send out the press release at 3:15am eastern time. Talk about cowardly and classless

    Bartolo injured his back swinging out of his shoes and even if he's out until September, you know none of the Sox brass would make any comments similar to Hank.

    if anything, its a sad decline considering what he's meant for the organization for many years now, being an integral part of two championships and a calming, veteran influence in the bullpen. the man still deserves respect
