  1. f***ing moron presenting the check to Morneau called him Jason
  2. According to Gammons, the Sox turned down a Braves offer of Mark Teixeira for Kevin Youkilis and Craig Hansen. I personally think the Sox made the right call, what do you guys think?
  3. his nifty ERA doesn't reflect the shitload of inherited runners he allows to score
  4. I pick Hamilton to pound the porch all night
  5. Everywhere Cora plays
  6. could be a very speedy outfield in a few years if he and Ellsbury are in the same lineup
  7. It really sucks seeing the player that got me into baseball breaking down like this
  8. I've heard there are doubts about Salty actually becoming a top catcher. Plus he's only batting around .220. Instead of Grudzy, I've love to have Mark Loretta back
  9. Starting Pitcher: Jon Lester Beckett has been inconsistent. Dice-K has been a bit lucky considering the walks he allows and Wakefield has been good but not good enough to keep in mind how inconsistent he can be. Position Player: Kevin Youkilis I almost picked Mike Lowell here but Youkilis has been on fire the entire season. Drew, Manny and Pedroia have also been good but went through bad to major slumps. Relief pitcher: Jon Papelbon Every single relief pitcher on the roster has been disappointing, with the exception of David Aardsma. Papelbon has underwhelmed me a bit as well but it's a testament to how good I think he is when he has the numbers he does and can still disappoint me. He's still our best relief pitcher by far though. Bench player: Sean Casey Who else are you gonna pick, honestly? Favorite game: Lester's no-hitter A no-hitter is always an event but a no-hitter from a guy who was diagnosed with cancer less than two years earlier? It's one of the more amazing sports stories in a long time and really puts that game on a pedestal above what any other regular season game could be.
  10. Great story. Compelling and rich.
  11. is there a specific reason he never seems to go past 5 innings? some kind of pitch count or innings count?
  12. you're an alcoholic italian member of the non-wiping club?
  13. I dont think they anticipated a four hour game
  14. I hope Tek breaks out of this more than anyone but you cant look at today as an example. they were basically hitting off a tee today
  15. the guy has signed two 1/4 billion dollar contracts in his career. everyone is a poor man's A-Rod
  16. im starting to think Youk, Manny, Dustin, Paps, Drew and Varitek are gonna be trying really hard to get that home field for the AL in the ASG
  17. awesome to see Dustin's hitting streak continue in a big way
  18. what are the odds I can get in on this next season? I'm a fantasy baseball junkie and am currently in 3 leagues, one that I've been in for 5 years now (2nd out of 12), and 2 public ones (1st out of 10 and 2nd out of 10)
  19. its Seats for Soldiers day at Fenway. thats probably why theyre wearing them
  20. you know, say what you want about the importance about Ortiz coming back, Manny returning to form, Varitek getting his average up, etc. etc. etc. but unless this bullpen straightens out and develops a little consistency, everything else won't mean s***
  21. if Pedro gets into any kind of shell of what he used to be and it sparks the Mets, you can add Santana/Martinez to that mix too
  22. ok Tito, Beckett's had enough
