You can't say the FO failed cause they didn't get the guy you thought they should get. You could say they failed cause everyone knows they wanted Teixeira and they failed at that but they're the guys hired to run the team and if they didn't think Victor was worth what it would have taken to get him, then it isn't a failure on their part.

Considering the team made it to Game 7 of the ALCS with its fair share of injuries, why would Theo have had to go out and dramatically boost what the team will be? Especially considering the lunacy that is the big-name free agent market

Fine, he won't get that 4-5 year deal at $15-20 mil a year but even if you cut that down drastically to a 1-year/$10 mil deal, do you really think another team wouldn't top that? And do you think the Sox would pay a platoon/bench guy that much regardless of who he is?

Dunn is an every day player who will command an every day player's salary. I don't see how he's a fit with the Red Sox.

I think was a700 is saying that the player could give a f*** about draft picks the team he signs with has to give up, he's only interested in the money so why would he educate himself about the draft picks?

That's why I think they'll get rid of Bard and make Kottaras the backup which is a shame cause I think Kottaras should get all the ABs he can in Triple A
