  1. Brian Roberts is close to a 4/40 extension according to Rosenthal, the Baltimore Sun and MASN. That should end the endless trade talk involving him
  2. Yea but the team is more dependent on Penny contributing than it was on Colon contributing
  3. the incentives could be enough to keep Penny in line
  4. After Brad Penny said... Larry Bowa replied with... Larry Bowa responds to Brad Penny's criticism
  5. I get that the Yankees have to make comments to support A-Rod but it is possible to do that without sounding like a complete moron "Yea, Alex was caught but he was caught at a time when 103 other guys tested positive. It really isn't fair that for some reason, Alex's name is the only one that came out."
  6. Incredible answer from Brian Cashman when asked if he regretted giving that 10-year deal to A-Rod last season:
  7. It's really up to A-Rod. If he wants to hold a press conference to give a generic statement making excuses and then dodging every question and contradicting himself then he's the one responsible for this dragging on and on. I'd like to think who his media adviser is has an actual idea of how the media works and if he/she thought today's circus was gonna be the end of it, he/she needs to look into a new line of work.
  8. I'm listening right now and I just don't understand this strategy. He's dodging every question when clearly, the best course of action is to be up front and honest about it. Why let public opinion dictate how you are viewed? If you let public opinion dictate how you're viewed, you will ALWAYS be viewed in the worst possible light. Like the example question rician blast said above: Q:"What was the benefit of the substance you took?" Why not answer: A:"My understanding of steroids was that they make you a better player overall. They make you faster and stronger. At that age, I may not have considered the harm they do or how it could haunt me in the future but as a kid breaking in, I was looking for every advantage I could get." There you go. An honest answer and one where if everyone took a step back and listened to what he was saying, they could completely understand and relate. Instead, he spouts ******** about steroids being a placebo. He couldn't possibly take a worse PR hit than he already has unless he was lying in what he told Gammons. But every question at that interview was leading him to elaborate on what he's already admitted to.
  9. This is a message board to discuss all things Red Sox, not to whore out your career aspirations.
  10. Exactly, you know your entire life that certain things, like smoking, are bad for you. How is it possible that at 25 years old, you don't know that being injected with s*** is bad for you? He's stepping out of everything, he was asked about Moyer and Oswalt's comments and all he has to say is "I'm sorry he feels that way".
  11. You know, I can appreciate A-Rod coming out and doing that interview with Gammons and then facing reporters with this press conference but would it too much to ask for the f***ing guy to speak from the heart once in awhile? I'm sick of these prepared statements
  12. Griffey will agree to a deal with the Braves today according to the AJC
  13. And that everytime his argument becomes overmatched, he replies with a stupid insult
  14. I understand that Papelbon has said that he doesn't care about security as much as he cares about getting the money he feels he deserves, and he's perfectly happy going year-to-year in arbitration until he can be an FA. So if he'll only sign a long-term deal if he gets the money he feels he deserves, you don't think he feels he deserves at least as much as K-Rod?
  15. CC's man-boobs look like they're stretching out his shirt more than his gut so yea, maybe he did lose some weight
  16. K-Rod got 3/37, I don't see why Papelbon would ask for anything less
  17. They could simply be concerned enough about his shoulder to be unwilling to go past two years and I can't blame them for it
  18. That's throwing out the possibility he juiced? That sounds like you accusing him of juicing. Don't back down now, "f***tard"
  19. I never said there wasn't any harm in giving him a minor-league contract, I said what's the harm in a 15-minute bullpen session. If he's good enough, hell give him a minor-league deal and at worst, he'll be down in Lancaster or Portland teaching the young prospects. What's wrong with that?
  20. Your Opening Day 25 Man Roster Thanks for researching
  21. Spoken like a true steroid-user
