  1. What's changed about Wakefield? He's pitched with a torn labrum for two years
  2. I'll try to remember to quote this at the end of the season
  3. I'm just trying to point out the stupidity of trying to use math to figure the likelyhood of these guys doing anything
  4. lol, this is like that argument a couple of years ago whether USC could beat the Oakland Raiders
  5. Doesn't it have to do with starting pitchers being on a regular schedule pitching every 5th day as opposed to relievers who might pitch two days in a row, have three games off, etc. not allowing the body to get into any sort of rhythm?
  6. Why is there a discussion about the mathematics of probability when no one knows what the f*** do base any of that probability on?
  7. it's a high probability of success in the sense that I think we'd all be pretty shocked if none or even one of these guys contributed fairly significantly to this team.
  8. They might be competitive if Oil Can was signed
  9. How does Cutler's head even hit in his helmet?
  10. It's just dumb though. The absolute only way to judge these signings is at the end of the season. It's like all those stupid columns that pick winners and losers the day after the NFL draft.
  11. EVERY goalie stumbles from time to time. I believe it was just on Saturday that Brodeur allowed 6 goals and got pulled
  12. Yea, its a nice roster in terms of showcasing our depth, but that team doesn't belong anywhere near a major league game. We play a similar game like that in Canada everytime the winter olympics come around. We take a look at the men's hockey roster and then make a second roster out of guys who were left off and both teams could conceivably medal.
  13. Looking back though, it is pretty funny to see that Peter King wrote the following line Monday:
  14. Littleton could be in that pen
  15. It's also very possible that they will get something out of each guy. What's the point of grading these signings in spring training?
  16. A short, two-loss elimination baseball tournament is a recipe for upsets so I think any kind of upset in this thing can only be so embarassing
  17. Every doctor strongly believes in the diagnosis he gives patients so the most optimistic a doctor will ever be about a prognosis is immediately after a procedure. But the terms "complications" and "setbacks in recovery" are pretty common in rehab so anything the doctor says about a surgery, especially a surgery that needs another, more major surgery after the season. How confident can Phillippon be about the effects A-Rod charging a bunt, planting his leg and making an off-balance throw will have on his hip?
  18. As we all do. Try living here and not indulging yourself But Price is on his way back up after the way he's played the past three games. He's 21 years old, there's bound to be peaks and valleys along the way as you'll see with Rask
  19. And wondering when Stark graduated from the Peter Gammons School of Baseball Writing
  20. I think he'll have somewhat of a bounce back year anyway On a more positive note, Clay pitched three perfect innings today
  21. Well, you certainly dove in head first
  22. can he really be much worse?
  23. I don't get why Varitek just doesn't give up being a switch-hitter and sticking to batting right-handed. He batted .284 with a .378 OBP last season right-handed
