  1. I remember this classic as well http://www.yankeebasher.com/images/Arod_Luvas.jpg
  2. That's all you have to say?
  3. What are the odds Tazawa would get the nod if there was an open spot in the bullpen over Jones or Bard?
  4. Wes Littleton was picked up off waivers by Milwaukee today
  5. To follow up on the posts above, Wes Littleton won't be an option anyway cause he was claimed off waivers today by Milwaukee
  6. That Venezuela/Puerto Rico game from last night was good. The crowd was insanely into it
  7. A big part of pitching is based on mentality and confidence. A lot guys can't sack up and get their s*** together if they stumble out of the gate. Homer Bailey might be becoming one those cases.

  9. Yea, but they aren't gonna risk ruining Bard just because Wes Littleton sucks They should keep Masterson in the bullpen and go with Buchholz if any starter can't go

  13. It would take a king's ransom to get Hanley though. I think he's locked in for the next 6 years with a ridiculously affordable contract considering his production
  14. If this is serious, this is a CRUSHING blow to the defending champs. If he's out long-term, it leaves them with Brett Myers, 84 year old Jamie Moyer, Joe Blanton and God knows who in the 4th and 5th spots.
  15. I think they'd be satisfied with Lowrie as their long-term solution at SS but it wouldn't stop them from actively persuing Hanley for example if he became available
  16. Yea, you would...
  17. I don't want Bard in Boston either and I haven't been saying that. All I've said is if he continues to make massive strides in his development, he could be a September call-up at the earliest. But it's too early to keep invoking the name David Aardsma into the conversation about him. I'll admit Bard's control is around Aardsma's right now but Bard is showing improvement with his control, something Aardsma never showed. If Bard's control doesn't improve this season, if he doesn't continue developing, then you might have an argument.
  18. Dice-K is pitching lights out vs. Cuba today. Pitching a shutout through 4 innings with 6 Ks EDIT: Finished his day hitting the 85-pitch cutoff after finishing the 6th inning. He allowed 5 hits, struck out 8 and the biggest key, he walked none
  19. Is there not reason for optimism considering he turned a corner in a huge way last season? I mean, the guy was a COMPLETELY different pitcher and if he keeps it up, he can be in the majors by the time he's 25
  20. THAT was your first Sox game? Geez, talk about lucky.
  21. Buchholz looked good again today striking out 6 in 3 2/3 IP. He walked 2 and gave up 4 hits along with his first run of the spring but a solid outing nonetheless
  22. Look, no matter how you look at it, the guy made incredible strides in his development in 2008. Let's see how his 2009 turns out cause he's already off to a hell of a start
