  1. Pete Abraham, Jon Heyman, Gordon Edes and Rob Bradford all reporting within the last few minutes that Tazawa is in Birmingham, Alabama right now getting his right elbow checked by Dr. James Andrews. Not good news.
  2. I can't find the quote but I remember Lowell saying this spring that he thought going to Texas was a good situation for him so I don't think he'd veto any kind of deal. As far as whether I'd do the deal, Ramirez didn't seem to have a very good 2009 at all so I don't know where he stands as a prospect.
  3. It's the fact that clearly no positive discussion comes out of a topic like this. There's no statistical evidence to back it up, it's a thread started for the sole purpose of whining.
  4. I feel like nothing positive will come out of this thread.
  5. Nice. A complete philosophical change in 16 minutes.
  6. To elaborate on RS's post, he fouled a pitch off his knee and seemed to be in a lot of pain according to reports.
  7. And he didn't even make our Olympic hockey team
  8. It's essentially his unwillingness to embrace a bench role, which at this point in his career is probably his only role since he just can't play every day in the field. I understand his pride as a professional but I just wish he'd understand that he's a liability at 3rd.
  9. Read this today from Peter Abraham...
  10. Although it was sweet that it was the Yankees in town for Opening Day in 2005
  11. Used to be the Expos obviously but I've always had a soft spot for the Cubs just cause they have so much in common with how the Sox were.
  12. I see what Gom is saying. Opening Day in itself is an event. Any typical Red Sox/Yankees game is an event. So why waste an event by having a matchup that would be an event anyway? If you get what I'm saying...
  13. I'll probably be doing the same....but with good beer....CANADIAN beer
  14. That's good, Mr. 3 posts. Call the guy who runs this board a fraud fan.
  15. That's crazy, I could've sworn I woke up this morning and saw that the Sox had signed Julian Tavarez on SportsCenter. I just realized I was dreaming though.
  16. A little dramatic, no? How come Lester, Buchholz and Ellsbury didn't seem to have a problem being in ACTUAL Santana rumors?
  17. It doesn't even matter if Dojji is making up trade rumors. Why can't Lowell be like 95% of professional athletes and give a variation of "you can't worry about trade rumors cause they're always there, you just gotta go out and compete" when asked about trade rumors?
  18. You just said he was "TOO professional" for trying to play through the injury as opposed to getting treatment. Since when is "TOO professional" the same as "the antithesis of professionalism"? And no, he isn't entitled to say something by now cause he'd be a Ranger if it wasn't for his goddamn thumb injury. He should sit back, enjoy the $13 mil he'll be getting for popping sunflower seeds for the foreseeable future and accept the fact that he's a broken down walking (barely) medical case.
  19. Oh really? So I guess MDC is the poster boy for professionalism in your book then. I'm not complaining about anything Lowell has done in the past but if the team feels like he's a liability at third and he himself admits that his hip and mobility isn't where he'd like it to be, then where does he get off complaining to the media that the team is trying to unload him?
  20. Look, I like Lowell as much as the next guy but at a certain point, he needs to be a bit more of a professional here.
  21. Ok fine, but he should stop whining then about how the Sox are trying to deal him away.
