  1. Sox lineup: Scutaro - SS Pedroia - 2B Martinez - C Youkilis - 1B Ortiz - DH Beltre - 3B Drew - RF Cameron - CF Hermida - LF Lackey - SP
  2. Take note of the 1:10pm start time today (and tomorrow) John Lackey (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Kevin Slowey (1-0, 1.69 ERA)
  3. According to Joe Haggerty, Chiarelli said there's some separation between Hall/Seguin and everyone else in the draft. Sounds like he'll take whoever Edmonton passes on.
  4. That's never been his fault.
  5. 372,189,000. I missed 5 of them
  6. Right, but then you get into the whole supply vs. demand thing. As long as people are willing to pay the current ticket prices, they'll stay where they are or go even higher. There's enough money being made that the owners are reaping the benefits as well but in the end, it comes down to the players. For the most part, attendance (and thus revenues) from stadium to stadium is tied to the team's performance. Except with owners like Carl Pohlad, who was vilified for not investing money back into a team that was successful and popular.
  7. It would be nice if lead-off baserunners could learn avoid making outs on the basepaths...
  8. Capitals in 4 Devils in 7 Sabres in 6 Penguins in 6 Sharks in 6 Blackhawks in 5 Canucks in 6 Red Wings in 6
  9. Amalie Benjamin says Aaron Boone (now with ESPN) and Tim Wakefield were conversing in the clubhouse.
  10. Well, going by last season here are the combined OPS of all the combos named above: Mauer/Morneau: 1.909 A-Rod/Tex: 1.881 Pujols/Holliday: 2.010 Utley/Howard: 1.836 Braun/Fielder: 1.951 So statistically, Pujols/Holliday are the best 3/4 combo in the majors but Mauer/Morneau are in the conversation. For those curious, the combo of Youk/V-Mart was 1.822....up there with Howard/Utley
  11. I'd probably give the Twins offense an edge over ours too but we've got a better rotation and their bullpen is very suspect when you take out Nathan.
  12. Not to mention Denard Span at the top is about as good as it gets.
  13. Very quietly, Minnesota has developed a pretty damn good lineup
  14. I'm not debating Jacko's medical credentials. My entire point is that he seems so damn sure about how a guy is feeling and what's wrong with him when he hasn't himself seen anything besides the collision and I'm sure it has something to do with the uniform Ells wears. If the same thing happened to Granderson, he'd say "oh, well the Yankee doctors examined him and said he's fine so he'll probably just miss 3-4 days. He's a gamer.....so tuff."
  15. BTW, how many Red Sox doctors PMed you for advice since the game ended? I'm sure it's the first time any of them have seen a rib injury in baseball.
  16. Buffalo wins. Sabres vs. Bruins in first round
  17. I'd be shocked if it wasn't Scutaro leading off
  18. Gordon Edes says Xrays were negative on Ellsbury. Bruised ribs and he's in lots of pain apparently.
