Padilla will definitely fistfight Salty.....because Salty sucks. Unfortunately for Padilla, Salty will kick his ass, because hes a monster.

They pretty much got rid of everyone I mentioned minus DiceK, Lackey and Crawford (who were obviously reaches)..... The only problem is, they added nobody. They only backfilled spots that they already had pretty damn good players at (ie: Papelbon). How much better or worse is this team next year. Is is addition by subtraction, or are we in for a long year of third place? .....and Ortiz, god how that blew up.......his deal wont be team friendly at all!

Small market teams like the Pirates, Padres, Royals and Redsox need to trade players away to save a 1.5M cap hit. We cant afford to pay luxury tax penalties because the owners generate little revenue since no fans ever go to the games and the place never sells out.

Haha.....you usually disagree with most of the things I say......but the thing is, I havent changed my tone one bit. The things that I say while brash and sometimes negetive, are not all that false if you actually look at what I am saying. This team is not 1 starting pitcher away.....they are a SP (if 1 of Bard/Aceves is in the rotation), 2/3 BP arms (if Bard and Aceves are both in the rotation) and SS away right now. They need to fill out the rotation, if they got Oswalt, thats a HUGE difference. If they add someone like Jackson....then they have to replace the production of Aceves AND Bard in the BP because 1 of them will be in the rotation. What I mean by that.....is that by subtracting 1 of them, you will have to add at least 2 arms in the BP because the combo of Bard or Aceves + a FA BP arm will not equal what Bard and Aceves gave us last year in the pen. Aceves was really great, and saved us a ton last year. Who fills that role if he is in the rotation? Also, you have to factor in that we will not be getting the same production out of SS that Scutaro/Lowrie gave us with Aviles/Punto. We are worse right now than we were, and what we were....was a third place team. Youkilis being healthy is offset by the production of SS and the holes in the rotation/bullpen. Crawford will be better (we think)....but he cant pitch and right now, and hes not healthy. Youkilis will be healhty....but he cant pitch. Gonzalez will be healhty....he cant pitch either. Our offense was fine last year, it was fine 2 years ago, it will be fine this year.....but their pitching will be the Achilles heal.

My fearless prediction......right now, they are a third place team. They have stayed the same or gotten worse than they were last year. Delcarmens problem is 2-fold..... His control with his offspeed pitches is poor and his fastball is too straight.....when he gets behind in the count, he is a batting practice pitcher.

So, we are going to go with a platoon at SS? You know what types of teams have platoons at SS? The KC Royals and the Pittsburgh Pirates. 185 million spent, but they decide that SS is a place to save a few bucks.....bad idea. Talk about spending money in the wrong areas.

Thats what I dont understand. Usually, you acquire the player you want....THEN you do what you have to do to make him fit on the roster. They are saving 6+ million dollars by dumping him, then only offer Oswalt 5 million? We have HUGE question marks in the rotation, some question marks in the bullpen and no SS. What the hell are we doing here with less than a month before spring training? Everyone is pumped about the Cody Ross acquisition. Really? Since when do we get excited around here about a 4th of 5th outfielder who is at best, a platoon type player??? Cody Ross is Gabe Kapler, and all of a sudden everyone is pumped that we have solved our OF issues.....

Some of the new people on this board are almost unbearable. I am a realist, and I dont get 1/10 of the complaints these guys get. I wish almost all of the sawxheads or whatever they were would go back to their s***** forum. The reason why their forum sucked was because they were idiots, now they are littering this forum. Go away, you contribute nothing and all you do is piss everyone off.

I havent posted much lately, well....because I have nothing good to say, so I was always taught to not say anything at all. Todays news of the Yankees is troublesome for me. I wanted them to clean house....to some extent they did, but now there is news of Varitek being invited to spring training? Really? Right now, we are a worse team than we were last year, and we arent finishing above third place. Depending on how Toronto plays, we might not even finish there. Are they (Toronto) better than 81 wins? Maybe...their whole rotation is 26 or younger and most likely better this year than last. Are we worse than 90 wins????At this point is it easy to say we are better than the 90 wins??? We are a third to fourth place team right now. We have a solid offense.....our pitching is a f***ing mess and we are running out of options and time before spring training. Varitek.....are you s***ing me, we have to go through this again?

I think there might be a language barrier. Replace almost all of the "Fact:" with "Opinion:" and then we got some facts. This team still has a ton of question marks, mostly in the pitching department. The lineup will be fine, I dont give a s*** about who plays RF and everyone knows where I stand with Salty, but we can make do....all in all, they are a VERY good offensive team. Not many can debate that. I think that Ellsbury will decline, but Crawford will improve so in the end it will cancel out. Pitching.....right now, they are a mess. They have replaced Bard and Papelbon with Melancon and Bailey. We still dont know if Bard or Aceves can start and we still need someone who can provide all the innings that Aceves/Bard combined for last year in the pen if one of them, or both of them end up in the rotation. We are a month away from spring training, if they have decided that Bard/Aceves will take the 4 spot with the other returning to the pen and Carlos Silva/Aaron Cook will compete for the 5th spot, we are in trouble. Id rather see Doubront given a chance then those wash ups.
