Damon vetoed a deal to come here during a playoff race. Instead, he rather finish out the year on a team that missed the playoffs. He wants nothing to do with Boston. Everyone that meant something to him during his time here is gone minus Ortiz. He has no ties and no reason to come back. There is no loyalty for him here no more, that was gone the day he signed with the Yankees bc we told him he wasnt worth the money he wanted. We are just any other team to him.

Varitek was a .200 hitting backup catcher. The whole idea of a "C" on the jersey is joke. You cant blame a backup catcher at the end of the road for what happened last year. The team obviously had no respect for him and laughed at the "C" on his jersey. He was the captain on paper/cloth only. Becketts behavior and resistance to blame himself, rather make excuses....is a testament to his character and respect for the game and his teammates. Hes an arrogant ******* and nobody is going to tell him what to do. If he still has "ill feelings" towards current teammates......and these are the words coming out of his mouth on DAY ONE, this is going to be a long, long year. Goodluck dealing with that ******* Bobby V....your gunna need it.

Sucks. Keeping the seat warm is fine. He is not the catcher of the future, which some people believe to be true because of his relatively young age. If he hangs around as a backup, Id be more than happy with him. Id rather he keep the seat warm in the bullpen.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. There are a couple of things at play I think....... 1. He doesnt want to pitch in Boston. 2. He doesnt want to pitch in the ALE. 3. He is not healthy. 4. He is waiting for an NL team to make him a decent offer. 5. He is afraid of pitching in the AL, and hurting his value after a 1 year deal.

Yeah, I really could care less.... Im actually pissed off the owners spent 178M this year for the Liverpool soccer team rather than the Redsox. This is the united states, specifically the New England region......most of us dont give a s*** about soccer. Id rather they just sold the soccer team and spent the money on the Sox.

So you also think he is "disgusting", a "piece of s***" and an "*******" as well? You are blaming Wakefield for Tito sending him out there? You are blaming Wakefield for the RedSox incompetence and not putting a better product on the field? Since when was that Wakefield's problem? If Wakefield wants to pitch, and the Redsox are stupid enough to offer a contract, thats on the Redsox, not Wakefield. Its personal? I dont know you, you dont know me. Its a forum. Its the internet. They are pretty much all the same.
