2. Pedro Ciriaco has zero chance of making this team. Zero.
3. They were banned earlier today.
4. This team still has a very good chance to be good. A couple of things just need to work out for us. I was pissed all off-season that they did little and possibly got worse, but last years team was much better than they showed, and this years team still has a damn good chance to play well.
5. Dojji, the problem I have in your analysis Redsox prospects......is that you think that SoxProspects is like some holy grail scouting tool that nobody in the world knows about which requires secret clearance to access. Its an incredibly biased website and one of the creators/moderators over there is actually a former member of talksox. He was a homer who thought every sox prospect was gold and they used to talk about the Redsox prospects/farm system the same way you do. His name was jsinger. There is a reason why baseball america grades our system much lower than the guys over at soxprospects......its because baseball america knows that Che-Hsuan Lin sucks and doesn't have a chance. The same way that Nava, Tim Federowicz, Yamaico Navarro, Jorge Jimenez, George Kottaras, and Argenis Diaz.....all of whom you've advocated for, never had a chance. They just aren't that good. Just because they were good in college or high school does not mean they are going to make the major leagues. Every single guy who is drafted was the best of the best on their college team or high school team. When was the last time a high school backup RF who hit .230 got drafted? I think BA has a better feel for the talent in our system than a couple of fans over at soxprospects.
6. The run prevention year was a cover up for "bridge year".
7. Not sure if you are new to the forum world, but just to give you a heads up so everyone can see which/what you are referring to in your responses.... When you are looking at the thread, in the bottom right of each "post" there is the "quote" button. If you hit the quote button in any post, you will automatically respond to that members "post". To the right of that, there is an icon with " and a + in it. That is to quote multiple posts that members make. You can select multiple posts then scroll to the bottom of the thread and click on "post reply". Then, you will be able to respond to all of the posts that you selected. You probably already know how to do this, but just trying to help so it is easier to follow what you are referring to in your posts. -SCM33
8. Hes 100% right in the first paragraph. I have said much of the same s*** all offseason. The difference between the way I express it, and the way he expresses it is that I cant stand to see the Red Sox fail. It pisses me off that they have those holes. It pisses me off that last season happened. CHB is miserable and he gets off by writing bad things about the Red Sox and picking on certain players in public media. He needs the attention because nobody gave that lanky, hideous, red curly haired man the time of day growing up. He was picked on by all the jocks growing up and now he takes his revenge out on all of them in the papers.....
9. Haha, oh Emmz, nothing changes.
10. Fenway is a shrine compared to the Garden before they knocked it down. THAT place was a dump. Fenway gets by for now but the Garden was a nightmare. Power went out all the time, the Hockey rink "fogged" in the spring when the temp outside was 60 or above and the rats were not afraid of the people.
11. CHB sucks. He used to ride Jim Rice pretty hard. In fact, I am pretty sure CHB pretty much single handily ruined Jim Rices reputation around these parts with the articles he used to write.
12. Again, I said I love going. I said I go 5-10 times a year. Its a dump. Tourists and people who live out of state love it. Most locals hate it. People who live and work in the immediate area despise it. I can already see the responses to it........"well people shouldn't take jobs around there", "well then don't live in Boston", "well lose some weight", "well then don't drive to the park". All of those inconveniences for a baseball field. .....and Dojii, dont listen to what others say about your weight man. I am 6'0'' 225 LBs and work in a profession where physical fitness standards MUST be met every 6 months....and I find the place to be uncomfortable. Apparently friendly fenway and their fans don't give a s*** about accommodating ALL of their fans. Fat need not apply. Again, I love going.......but its a dump.
13. I am going to end this argument with this, since I do not want to argue with you.....since I consider you a "friend" in the forum world. Boston area fans don't have a choice, and you do not understand this.....since you live far enough away where you cant go to the games. If we want to watch our team in person, we HAVE to go to Fenway. I want to go to the games. I want to go to Fenway. I think Fenway is an important part of baseball history. But like I said, it is a dump and it is expensive and it is a nightmare to get to at times. How am I better off watching the game at home if I want to see them live knowing that the only option is an outdated insufficient ballpark? I hate the saying....."but it is, what it is". I love going, but I wish the destination and money spent was more "friendly". Unfortunately, "Friendly Fenway" isnt so friendly to the average consumer.
14. Dont compare me to the "problem" with talksox now a days. I was around for the "good times"...well before June 29th 2010. So lets not even go down that road. I said I love the place (Fenway), I said I enjoy the place, I said I go 5-10 times a year, I said Ive been going all my life. You REPLIED TO MY argument, which was that it was a f***ing dump. Ive maintained that its a dump throughout...... I am not allowed to call it a dump and go to the games? Why are you arguing with me? Its a dump.....you cant dress up a turd. The fact that the turd is old doesn't make it any more special than a regular turd.
15. Absurd is the fact that you think my view is wrong and yours is right, even though you've never even been there. Thats like me telling you that pro player stadium is awesome because the grass looks nice on tv and photographers take really nice pictures of it.
16. Yeah that's a great approach to take from a business standpoint. I love going to Fenway and go 5-10 times a year. That doesn't mean the place is great, the place sucks and its very expensive. If you want seats OTHER than bleachers, you are paying 200+ dollars a ticket (marked up 400-500% from face value) Plus, for the most part, the attendance doesn't even know a thing about baseball or the team, they too only want to go for the "atmosphere". You really cannot comment about anything regarding it since you've never been. I too enjoy the place, but its a dump. After going to the new Yankee Stadium and Camden Yards....the place is just outdated. Its fine for people who are going for their first time or for the experience, but the place is a miserable, uncomfortable overpriced dump......and thats coming from someone who likes going there. I could not imagine being a ticket holder having to drive Storrow Drive 80 times a year during rush hour traffic in Boston which is best described as extremely painful. A guy from Ontario (whos been there maybe a handful of times), a guy from Florida (who has NEVER been there), and another guy from California (who has also probably NEVER been there) are going to tell a guy who goes 5-10 times a year that hes wrong based on little actual experience there. They speak of "atmosphere" they have never even experienced and how comfort is overrated even though they have not ever sat in the seats. I've been there over 100 times in my life and I have lived 20 mins. outside the city my entire life, but I have no idea what I am talking about......
17. What did Papelbon say exactly that was so terrible? Redsox nation (pink hat nation) is a joke and Redsox fans are hysterical. Just read some of the comments on boston.com about the Redsox or tune in to a sports radio show around here.
18. How many games have you watched at Fenway? I love the place, but its a dump and the seats were not built to seat anyone over 180 Lbs. Between the RF seats that face the bullpen, the obstructed view monster seats, the obstructed view pole seats, parking, traffic and outrageous ticket prices and concession prices......the place needs to go. Just look at the beautiful new park they built in FLO....replica of the old stadium with all the newer amenities.
19.
Topic|Team|Content Prospect|Yankees|The player in question is made of 150% pure awesomeness. Fear us. Prospect|Sox|He could be good, but this is why he won't be. Signing|Yankees|This is the missing piece. We'll win 160 games, and the umps will screw us out of 2. Signing|Sox|Risky move, overpaid here, they'll regret this. Injury|Yankees|They don't get hurt. Hypothetically, if they did, the recovery will be speedy with no impact to ability. Injury|Sox|Everyone is a ticking time bomb. Once hurt, they'll never heal right.
20. Anyone been to the new park? What are your impressions?
