  1. Not sure where I heard it, but compared to Mike Greenwell......a very, very, very underrated, unappreciated baseball player. If he turns out that good, I will take it. EDIT:soxprospects is where i found the the greenwell comparison. -SCM33
  2. I echo these statements. Who f***ing cares if they wanted him, they didnt get him.
  3. Well hes right on par for his post allstar game suckiness, it is his staple and we saw it coming. I knew his .230 Batting Average/ modest power/ OB skills (hes always had at least those) was too good to last. Now his defensive deficiencies will come out (as if they already havent, TB could have signed Cecil Fielder....today version, and he would get a green light). BUT WAIT!!!!!!!! INTANGIBLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!INTANGIBLES MAKE UP FOR EVERYTHING, HE CALLS A GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!
  4. I agree with that, our eyes tells us the stuff is there. Not sure if its a confidence thing, because he has shown us the control as well in the past, as well as in the minors. Has to be a confidence issue he is having.
  5. Didn't care enough to know his name was cobra, and really wasn't defending him, but since your huge in the internet battles wins and losses type of thing......sure I get it.
  6. Where did I use the stat batting average? I know all about batting average and Rey Sanchez's historic .286 batting average in 2002 with zero run production. I said hitting as a generalization. I never said batting average.
  7. I think what he meant, was OB means nothing if you arent hitting, which could be true (usually not) besides the fact that the RedSox are doing fine in the RS category minus the post allstar hiccup.
  8. Why are there so many random new threads all of a sudden? Its like someone registers for the site, then creates 3 new threads each, there should be a minimum amount of posts required to start another pointless thread.
  9. Does that mean you agree with it, or not?
  10. WOW, Oh man, wonder if he shows his face here again, thats pretty bad.
  11. Eric: So he's passed first grade and moved on to second. whooptieto. Any more information, Rollo? Rollo the Janitor: Uh... [takes out crumpled note] Rollo the Janitor: Billy likes to drink soda, Miss Lippy's car is green ---->Billy Madison
  12. They have zero chance. Zero
  13. I bring this up again, something I posted last night. What the f*** was he thinking? Overplayed his hand? He may have just unofficially lost his job. What a moron, now hes stuck with a pitcher who is prob pissed off. He could have been pitching for a world series contender, now hes just wasting innings. If I am Halladay, I go out with a fluke injury, tell JP to f*** himself and demand a trade in the offseason, where JP will get nothing compared to the offers he was getting over the past couple weeks. What a retard.
  14. I am going to ask a question from a different perspective. If you are JP Ricciardi, why would you choose NOT to deal Halladay? 1. The Blue Jays stand no chance of competing with the top 3 in the division this year, or the following, and they know they will be unable to re-sign him. 2. Halladay at this point, probably wants to be traded, instead of pitching for a dead team once again this September, putting up HOF numbers for a s***** club. 3. The Jays will probably not get much more for Halladay than right now, when teams like Boston are desperate for his services to solidify their rotation as they march forward to the playoffs? Why would they not deal him right now at the deadline? Will JP be this stubborn? This deal could make or break his run as team GM, he might not even be around long enough to actually make the trade in the offseason, so why not do it, see just what Buchholz gives them and maybe save his job? I think the trade could actually HELP his status, unless Clay completely bombs.
  15. Baseball tonight, just now saying no deal will be made for Gonzalez, Halladay unlikely, only major deal which may happen is a three team deal, with VMart heading to Boston, and LaRoche being dealt.
  16. Have to assume it is Rickey Henderson? HOF list year by year here: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/history/mlb_history_halloffame.jsp Actually, I think Canseco played briefly with Nolan Ryan as well, that would be devastating.
  17. I wouldnt mind if Jeter is on the list, but have to believe if he were on the list, his name would have been released already since he is a pretty significant player, and many Yankees have already been released. Im pretty sure Griffey didnt use. I think most people think that way. I pray Pujols didnt use them, I pray he is the guy who cleans up the record books, I just have a funny feeling about him, and (no offense) any of the dominican players who have for years hidden their real ages and have had access to more s*** that they could not have had access to here in the US. I want him to be clean, I want him to be the hero, but I wont be shocked if he isnt.
  18. The thing that is bothering me most about this whole thing, is the manner in which they are being leaked, almost like it has been planned. First they nail the Yankees and Mets, since NY is the biggest baseball market in the county. Now its Boston, with Manny and Ortiz. Next it will be someone like Varitek.....to even out the score between the two markets. Then they will release Damons name, a player whos played in both markets. It is almost as if they are releasing the names with an intent plan.
  19. Wow, an agreement with me, I guess there are firsts for everything haha.
  20. Well, we'll find out. You will be shocked obviously, and I wont.
  21. Santa Claus is real. You really want to believe that too huh?
  22. The hefty price is for Halladay, they are basically just swapping out SS. One of which is better than the other, the better one not being Lowrie.
  23. The list that his name is on, which will be slowly leaked, 4 per year over the next 20 years, or until the person with the names decides to stop playing f***ing games with the integrity of baseball. You honestly dont suspect just about anyone with any success over the last 10 years? You must be a real baseball fanboy, obviously not concerned with integrity, since that has already been taken away from the game a long, long time ago.
