Jin Ho Cho, the at the time Dice-K Sang Hoon Lee, accomplished Japanese Closer John Marzano, the future catcher of the organization. Bob Zupcik, the next Dwight Evans Scott Cooper, the worst 2 time all star ever. Steve Lomasney, Peabodys finest Dwayne Hosey...leadoff hitter of the future Lee Tinsley, a little older, but see above. Cole Liniak, slugging infielder who was talked about as a slugger of the future. Kevin Morton, my personal favorite, and at one time, username at SOSH. Rudy Pemberton and his .500 batting average over a stretch ( when BA was still considered a "stat") Carlos Quintana and his "spring training battle" with Mo Vaughn for 1B starting duties. Izzy Alcantara, hit the crap out of the ball in AAA, kicked the hell out of an unassuming catcher. Reggie Jefferson, not really a prospect, but one of my all time favorite RedSox, was a cant miss player. Wilton Veras...was a beast of a man, hit for zero power.....really thought he was the real deal. Morgan Burkhart....a minor league hitting machine. Andy Yount....pitcher turned OF Rick Asoordian...threw 95+, compared to Roger Clemens, converted to OF, never lived to hype. Nomar Garciappara...my favorite baseball player growing up..what would have happened had he not got hit by that Al Reyes fastball? Spiderman always lives in my heart. Dernell Stenson.....slugging prospect who didnt deliver, and was murdered. RIP. Juan Diaz....another one of those late 90's sluggers who did nothing in the bigs. Memories.....BTW what happened to Zob Zombie? Cya later hahahaha....

Just learned that tonight neither Youkilis, or Victor Martinez are in the lineup tonight (9/15/09). This is a huge series for us, and there is already uncertainty with Dice-K on the mound, throw in the slugging Varitek and Kotchman, and I am really pressed as to what Theo is doing here.

It will be, some kinks are still being worked out in terms of new registrations and the amount of spam the site was receiving.

Delcarmen has a career WHIP of 1.319. Thats pretty terrible for a closer. Papelbon is in a down year and his WHIP this season is still better than Delcarmens career numbers.....in a down year.

Yeah, weve seen the "alot worse" over the past couple of seasons. Guys who cant hit or field. In fact, its been "alot worse" since A Gon left.

What do fellow posters believe will be Tim Wakefields role with this club next season?

Not sold on Lowrie. Wouldnt hate the idea of A Gonz as our starting SS next year.

I could see them not keeping Kotchman or Baldelli on the playoff roster. Maybe not both, but I could see at least one of them being left off the roster. I cant explain exactly why I feel this way, but I could see Gathright on the playoff roster playing all 3 OF positions with his speed and the need for a baserunner who can take a base, we sure do have enough guys who clog the bases in our starting lineup.

Man I wish they had just kept Laroche. Next year they could have had (with this years current stats): 1B Laroche .272/.353/.482/.834 OPS 21Homers and 61RBI, rotating between 1B and DH 3B Youkilis .311/.417/.563/.980 OPS 24Homers and 83RBI, rotating between 1B, 3B C Vmart .294/.376/.477.852 OPS 21Homers and 92RBI, rotating between C, 1B, DH DH Lowell .296/.337/.503/.840 OPS 17Homers and 69RBI, Platoon role seeing time at 3B, and even 1B. DH Ortiz .225/.317/.438/.754 OPS 23Homers and 80RBI, Platoon role Laroche has been doing damage since his trade out of PIT.

They do Jon a favor by drafting his brother just for shits and giggles, then Jon demands that his unskilled overraged, outmatched brother be promoted? Ugh, just shut up and close out ballgames....one day, just like your younger brother, will be out of the organization.

Could we please re-sign him for next year. I know, I know, he is not a great offensive player, I know his OB skills suck, but is anyone else happy to have him here, so that we at least know who is playing SS everyday? Hes been very good defensively, maybe the trade to a contender woke him up a little bit. At the very least, he gives us an everyday SS who can glove it, and hit a little bit, enough where he at least solidifies the position (again). I know some people here dont like him, but honestly since he has been here, we no longer have to worry about who will be playing SS, its Gonzalez, and hes done a nice job since hes been here.

I would like to think that most of here are the same way, here at talksox we are pretty vocal and stubborn, but at the end of the day, we are all here for the same reason.

I dont think there is any way Varitek is back next year. Anyone else think he may hang them up? Hes been brutal since the break, he just doesnt have it.......and I hesitate to say "anymore", because its been gone for a while.
