  1. They don't even need to make an offer, just a decision. There's an $11M club option for 2011 on the contract. Do it, Cash.
  2. Move here. You wouldn't think it would happen, but it grows on you. This is fun state to live in. Florida sucked in comparison.
  3. I will watch a Texas / SF series. I probably would have less interest in a NY / Philly series. But, that's just me. Probably has something to do with the fact that Philly, NYC, and the Jersey Shore form a Bermuda Triangle of douchbaggery that is not rivaled by any other geographical area in the country.
  4. Is there something he can do about it?
  5. I'm not picking nits, just providing him with the correct information. I don't disagree that it's unlikely we see Downs on the team due to the inherent risk associated with volatile relievers (ie everyone other than the cyborg). I don't think the draft pick would weigh as heavily as the commitment, though.
  6. Darren Oliver is the Tony Robbins of baseball. If you believe you are not awful, which he apparently must or else he would have hung 'em up by now, then you will not be awful, which he actually isn't most times. I see his stuff and yawn, but he seems to be able to will his way into some success.
  7. Lots of pitching changes going on at Gameday: Darren Oliver replaces Clay Repada Darren Oliver replaces Darren Oliver Darren Oliver replaces Darren Oliver I was born a bit after him, but when Darren Oliver was born, that must have been one hell of a popular name.
  8. Plus, if they had acquired Lee, they have an exclusive 15 negotiating period that is now Texas' benefit.
  9. Can't watch where I am, but I do have Gameday. Looks like Burnett is throwing meat to start the game. Lots of pitches splitting the plate.
  10. This chick blows.
  11. You can say this with a straight face? That's rich.
  12. Got by with another mistake to Vlad. Middle of the plate at the letters.
  13. Yep, and he missed by about 4 mm.
  14. JFC, that was about 10" outside.
  15. Texas is football country, but the other sports market very well here. There would be no shortage of opportunity for him.
  16. You know, there is an interesting possibility if you think back to the Yankees/Lee trade rumors in July that they were just talking about. The chances that Lee does sign for something a bit less than the Yankee offer are probably increased if he goes on to win it all in Texas. The whole comraderie, chemistry, and liking where he is angle gets magnified if you walk through fire together. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
  17. No, if Texas lost after having that lead, NY would have "ripped their hearts out through their throat". Clearly that happened, I mean you saw how s***** Texas was in Game 2.
  18. Looks like he missed the bag with his hand. Nice overreaction, Mr Kay.
  19. Guys, while I agree with you about the money argument, this isn't a great time or place for it. It's been hashed and rehashed several times here, but if you feel it needs another go, I suggest another thread for it. Anyway, what Jacko's doing is fairly transparent. We are enjoying Lee's work against his team, so he's trying to diminish that enjoyment by telling us how much he'll get to enjoy him next year. Here's the key, f*** him, continue to enjoy it tonight. No matter what happens in the offseason, it won't change what happens tonight.
