I think this may be the first year in a while that Texas isn't overrated in the preseason polls.
They have a good O-line with college football's most exciting player, Vince Young, taking the snaps. Yeah I know Reggie Bush can dazzle, but he doesn't touch the ball every play.
Nine returning starters on D with ex-Auburn defensive coordinator calling the shots means that they will be experienced, fast, and get after the ball with some aggressive schemes.
Their annual speed bump against Oklahoma may have a different result since the Sooners lost their signal caller and two wideouts, allowing the D to focus on stopping Peterson.
I thought the Yankees played the Cardinals earlier this season.
Seriously though, he has been a good pick up for the Yankees. Given the way he's pitched, I wish we'd have made a move for him.
Hansen got another inning today in Portland's 1-0 victory.
1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
That makes his AA line:
6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K
in 5 appearances
I'm cautiously optimistic about this. He has been inconsistant in most of his outings. He had been hitting the gun for an average of around 88-90 with his FB, with an occasional 93 or so.
But last night he was consistantly 91-93 for the first time, and he did that for 2 complete innings. The splitter was biting with the extra velocity, but you could tell he was making a conscious effort to keep it down because the extra bite caused a few bouncers. And I can't blame him there because that has been his weakest pitch since his return (when it wasn't biting as much it ended up at the knees.......and then in the stands).
He'll still have some work getting his split back to where it was, but last night was night and day compared to all other outings since the return.
Mike "I am the human surrender flag" Remlinger comes in. He'll at least eat up the rest of the innings, resting everyone else, if the offense can't get things going.
Dinardo. Kennedy singled (I think, was on the phone and didn't hear too well), then stole 2nd.....Figgins line drive......runners at the corners, no outs
Wow, I'm speechless. Everyone is so kind here, but I'll feel like a schmuck if you all just give it to me. It won't set us back any to go to the game if I don't win. Beach seats are $6, and as anyone who has gone knows, you never watch the whole game from the beach.
Same thing that happened to the Nationals, just a little later in the season. Both won a boatload of 1-run games earlier, the bubble was bound to burst.
