  1. I forgot to mention this, the scenario I presented is contigent on Foulke not coming back to close. From the sound of things, the line drive hit muscle, not bone. Bruises heal faster than fractures.
  2. You tell me, apparently everyone is off your list. Theo says sorry for not convicing Cashman to fork over Rivera. I can understand your reluctance to let he rookies close, but they have the best stuff in the closet. Let them serve as the bridge. 95 mph gas from 2 different arms is good enough to get 6 outs. Remember, in 2002, Francisco Rodriguez, a rookie, was the bridge to Percival on the Angels. The only person that tagged him good was Bonds in the WS, hardly anything to hang your head about.
  3. Bump!!!! THERE ARE FREE TICKETS TO SOX GAMES TO BE WON IN THE CONTEST SECTION!!!!
  4. Just say, "bump". As in, bumped to the top of the list.
  5. Many said the offense was producing fine with Bellhorn, but we've been better with Tony G. We don't even need to make a trade to upgrade offensively AND defensively from Millar. Pitching IS costing us games. But if that is the case, wouldn't it make sense to put the most potent offensive lineup on the field to cover the pitchers' asses?
  6. Here we go; I should win because: -Sox have won every game I have attended -Manny went deep in every game I have attended -The last two games I went to, both this year (1 at the Fens, 1 at the Trop), my wife was unable to go with me. She is a Sox fan from the Cape as well, and would be able to go during this series. -We just found out she is pregnant with our second child, and what's a better way to celebrate than a Sox game.
  7. There is a thread in the contest section to win them everyone.....go get them.
  8. Agreed. Colon is having his best year as a starter. He got off to a rocky start, but has been phenomenal the last couple of months. This is probably his Cy year. Mariano had a shot before Texas and Tampa came calling. Garland is looking like he will slip off a bit. Halladay has been hurt. EDIT: Last year's winner, Santana, could give him a run if he has another 2nd half like he did when he won, but I still think Colon would have to slip a bit to lose it.
  9. I do think this team need more arms in the 'pen and less bench players. I like Petagine, but he's expendable. Millar can't be sent down without agreeing to it, and since he is in a FA year, he won't accept. So, unless the team is willing to release him (doubtful), Petagine is most likely to be sent down to bring another arm up before the rosters expand. I look forward to the day that the organization has washed its hands of Kevin Millar.
  10. Funny, but sadly true.
  11. C'mon Tito, give Cora a chance.
  12. And where exactly does that show up in the win/loss column?
  13. Now Petagine comes in. The fried chicken delivery guy must have just shown up.
  14. Yeah, he sure showed that against Bonderman and Colon.
  15. The only logical conclusion I can come up with, considering Millar's performance lately, is that he has compromising photos of Tito and a farm animal.
  16. Gonzo is the long man. But Papelbon and Wells not getting into the 6th worked Gonzalez too much in the Detroit series.
  17. Like I said, Bradford and Gonzo were probably off-limits, and Remlinger can't be trusted there. He gambled, he lost.
  18. Once it got to 8-0, I'm pretty sure Tito decided to rest the key guys in the 'pen. Bradford pitched a bit in the Detroit series, so he was probably off-limits tonight. Gonzalez pitched two days in row, and Timlin can always use a little rest.
  19. Because he gives up ER's in just about every appearance he's had with the Yankees.
  20. Oh well, he's good for one thing, eating up some innings in a laugher.
  21. Remlinger now has 3 IP's and 11 ER for the Sox.......and he's still on the team ?!?!?
  22. Remlinger, you are a complete dog.
  23. Remlinger is living, breathing proof of the addage, "If a left-handed relief pitcher still has a pulse, he'll be able to find work in MLB".
  24. Remlinger = human "throwing in the towel"
  25. Remlinger, bleh...we need a hold this inning.
