  1. Does that add to his value?
  2. Time to pound some Wang.
  3. Boomer is engaging the cruise control after some rough traffic getting out of the gate.
  4. We did in the first. They need a reminder that those sinkers aren't being called strikes, so lay off them.
  5. http://users.erols.com/antos/dante/homer.jpg to deep left center.
  6. Wang got that location against Rent. Have one strikezone Blue!
  7. 3-1 did look a bit off the plate.
  8. JD! Be aggressive. No DP for the sinkerballer now.
  9. Big wiggle. I'll take giving up one in that situation. Tear Wang to shreds offense.
  10. Bases are loaded, and nobody has made contact. 1-0 on the single.
  11. Didn't see this coming from Boomer. Find the plate!
  12. Boomah starts it off right!
  13. He's on NESN, what do you expect him to say? You should have seen that coming from a mile away.
  14. It is so f***ing on! BRING IT, BITCHES!!!
  15. I forgot about the rainout, thanks. I just remembered game 1 and 4, which is usually 3 days rest.
  16. Someone asked for it on the previous page. I can see why you were concerned though, and thanks for the wake up.
  17. Wang's GO/FO is 2.97 per mlb.com. They list it as GO/AO, which I assume means ground-out to air-out. link
  18. The last time he started on 3 days rest in a really meaningful game was Game 4 of the 2003 ALCS. 7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 8 K ain't too shabby. He's been solid as a rock lately too. Saturday will be a pitching duel. Wang throwing 96? Yeah, occassionally, but he's pretty consistent in the 90-93 range, which isn't bad. However, if I'm a Yankee fan, I'm a little nervous about sending a kid with 16 career starts out to the bump in a game of this magnitude. His 3.5K/9IP wouldn't inspire a lot of confidence either. That's a lot of balls in play. At Fenway Park. But, as we've all seen, this pronostication is pretty worthless when it comes to these two teams. Not many thought '03 would go to the Yankees with Pedro on the hill in game 7. Just like not many thought the Sox would recover from 3 down last year. Strap on your helmets.
  19. Pitching matchups Wells vs. Wang Wake vs. Johnson Schilling vs. Mussina Wake is going on 3 days rest so that Schilling could get normal rest after the double header. EDIT: Oh yeah, IT'S f***ING ON!
  20. I disagree. In Papelbon's first few appearances (3 starts and first couple relief outings) he pretty much had to live on his fastball and its velocity/movement. He was a little wild and didn't look quite ready for the bigs. That being said, he has totally turned it around (perhaps it was some nerves) and is starting to gain some polish. He's locating really well, his slider is looking more effective, and his splitter is starting to look really good. He's not just throwing gas now; he's starting to pitch. Even the hits he gave up last night were on some really good pitches. This kid belongs in the rotation next year. He may experience some more growing pains as hitters get to see him some more, but in a couple of years, he is going to be a bonafide stopper/ace in the rotation. He's got moxie, a big arm, and is really starting the learn the art of pitching. The future's so bright, gotta wear .
  21. Lefty coming in. PH for Trot with Mirabelli?
  22. After tonight, they will still have a 2 game lead for HF over the Yankees if they both win, with 4 to play. Once they have the division wrapped up, they will be trying to set the rotation for the playoffs, and I'm sure resting those that need it will be on their minds too.
