  1. I'm giving my opinion, not the FO's. They certainly appear to think differently than I do. I was just throwing my two cents in.
  2. Consider the future. Tek is showing the signs of wear more and more each year. That is going to continue and only get worse at the end of his 4 year deal. When his contract is up, he'll be 36 going on 37, which for catchers is usually the end of their fielding days. We will need a replacement. Shoppach will be 28 when Tek's contract ends, and if we bring him up now and throw him into the mix, he will be ready to grab the reigns. I know Wake is more effective with Belli than with Tek right now. But you know what, things change. Most of that effectiveness is due to familiarity. The more Tek catches him, the better they will work together. I think it would be unwise to get rid of something that you will need in the future.
  3. I'd prefer we tried to move Mirabelli. He's not expensive, and while he won't be as alluring as Shoppach, due to Shoppach's youth and potential, I think he'd fetch us some help where we need it. Namely, a corner outfielder (a RH one to platoon with Trot) or some BP help. We already have enough starters.
  4. Stop fanboying on Rent. He had several opportunities with runners on. Yes, Johnson is tough to hit, but that doesn't put Rent beyond some criticism.
  5. I agree with this. I have said all along that ARod should be the MVP, but there is a good argument for both sides. Some Sox fans would never support a Yankee, some Yankee fans would never support a Sox player. That won't change. Personally, as a fan, the only piece of hardware I care about goes around the finger.
  6. I would imagine all season ticket holders will be given a grace period to pay for/pick up their tickets at will call and everything that doesn't get claimed, along with the rest of the seating capacity, will get sold at the gate.
  7. Wouldn't be right if it happened any other way, would it?
  8. We win tomorrow, we get the White Sox. Have fun with the Angels.
  9. More surprises..... #14 ASU 14 - #1 USC 3, 1st half PSU 20 - #18 MINN 7, 1st half
  10. That is all true, but this needed to be added. The Guardians are one game behind the Sox in the WC race. If we win tomorrow, they can't catch us, therefore we and the Yankees make the playoffs. Once we are both in, stocker323's scenario is in effect. We win, we are in. We lose, Cleveland must lose too.
  11. Congrats to you guys. I have a feeling we will meet again. This year.
  12. Surprise in the making..... 'Bama 24 - FL 3, with 5:00 left in the 1st half.
  13. You failed. Go away now.
  14. Yeah, him and Crosby. I don't see the bench being cleared, but it could happen given the Yankee's age. I'll be very surprised if either Mo or Gordon throw, as they've been ridden pretty hard down the stretch.
  15. If you are an Guardians fan, you sure picked a stupid time to come gloat. However, given your posts, that isn't entirely surprising.
  16. My rationalizing is the motherf***ing balls.
  17. There are silver linings, guys. I know I'll get called out for rationalizing, but I really do believe this. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. We control our destiny tomorrow against a team looking to set things for the postseason. We win, and we are in. If we do win, I feel we got the better end of the deal. The Angels have the best top-to-bottom pitching staff for the playoffs IMO, and that is who the Yankees will be facing. We, on the other hand, get the White Sox. While their pitching is good, I don't think it is nearly as good as the Angels, and their offense doesn't send anyone running for the hills either. I have a feeling we aren't done with the Yankees this year. Three straight ALCS's isn't only possible, but it seems ordained.
  18. Use the good arms in a game you reasonably have a chance to win. That is not the case today. If it were a 2-run game (thank you Millar), then I'd agree with you.
  19. I disagree. Tomorrow is more important than today at this point. Save the good arms for the game you absolutely must have.
  20. 850 ft? Joe, Manny's 2nd shot was over the hitter's screen in center (420 ft to the wall), and the 1st had to have at least hit the roof of Cask 'n Flagon. I'd say closer to 950+ ft. I know it is a small thing to point out, but those balls were crushed.
  21. 6-4 game if Kev isn't playing.
  22. Manny is the MFB. I made it, I can acronym it.
  23. He doesn't put up a very convincing fight, does he? I grew up in the DC area (Sox fan by family roots) and the only game in town was the O's. Earl Weaver would have raised holy hell there.
  24. How about those motherf***ing balls. Rally motto?
  25. McCarver is a star gazer. Sheff is a bigger star than Trot, thus the verbal masturbation. Truth be told, he is a Cardinals guy at heart.
