  1. Make them pay Manny.
  2. Now he brings the hook out. Anyone remember Hafner's last AB vs. Foulke? I'm not comfortable right now.
  3. Medic!!! Check Francona's pulse.
  4. Graves is warming up. Good. He's been covered in accelerants lately.
  5. I thought one of the big risks associated with the use of HGH was the acceleration in the growth of tumors. I don't recall reading anything about steroids that suggests they have this same side effect, but I'm no expert.
  6. I'm sure you haven't been watching since the Sox are usually on at the same time as the Yanks, but Loretta has been roping the ball lately, but it's just been right at people. Yeah, the stat sheet doesn't look good for him right now, but I'm not worried about him based on what I've seen.
  7. Right now? It's starting to look a lot more like this year. Twenty games in and problematic situational hitting is the one common thing among them all.
  8. Aloha.
  9. Aloha. I love greenies. (No, not speed. Those of you who haven't been to Australia will have to guess what those are.)

  13. Carl Everett doesn't believe dinosaurs ever walked the Earth, but that doesn't make it right. Boomer's start this year is just like his start last year. He's been ineffective because he's been hurt. I see no reason to think he can't get into a groove by June like he did last year, and in June, July, August of '05, he was the closest thing the Sox had to a stopper. Yeah, he's fat tub of goo, but that is what makes him start off so slow. EDIT: typo
  14. I can agree with idea of him doing this when he leads off the inning. And, the way things have gone thus far, he's been starting the inning more than I'd like to see (yeah, I'm looking at you Loretta). In fact, I'm getting outright sick of seeing the shift, and I'd like to see the Sox make teams pay for it, so I can think of other scenarios where they ought to take advantage. Of course, for them to pay the full price, they need the full Manny threat behind Papi, and I don't think he's all the way back yet. Once he is, they should consider doing it more often to keep teams honest.
  15. They have something similar on ESPN.com called gamecast on their MLB scoreboard. It's a little more animated; it has a little ball going from the mound to the plate and there is the suspense of watching the ball put into play. However, I prefer the format and appearance of gameday.
  16. I don't know what Papelbon needs to do more to prove himself worthy of a rotation spot. In three spot starts last year, the only thing holding him back from delivering a quality start in each one was a strict pitch count to protect his arm. He's shown excellent refinement and command of both his slider and splitter this year. ++FB, +Slider, +Splitter, and moxie.....that stuff belongs in the rotation.

  22. I would have kept Stern up until Coco came back. He's got to be a better CF option than Willie Harris.
