  1. Wily Mo! Wily Mo! Wily Mo! Let's go Wily Mo.........damn skippy.
  2. Hey, caught a break there. Manny, you crazy bitch, I love the hustle.
  3. Look on the bright side Riv, Jaret Wright is throwing a no-hitter.
  4. Beckett's still got a hangover from Cleveland. He looks wild tonight like he did then.
  5. Jared lost a bunch of weight at Subway. Jaret lost the strike zone as soon as he left Leo Mazzone. Leadoff walk for Gathright.
  6. I'm certain of one thing, whatever the name is, the wit will be lacking.
  7. The $18M offered to Clemens is pro-rated for the amount of time he pitches. In other words, it's the same contract he got last year, but since he isn't pitching the whole year, he doesn't get the whole tamale.
  8. How do you feel about Schilling?
  9. I just can't wait until we play the Gaynkees again.
  10. Did somebody say blue gay? http://www.pleasedancewithme.com/gschedule_files/EurogamesHannover2001_MaleCoupleBlueLtn.jpg Keeping the gay theme along with the Full Metal Jacket mojo, R. Lee Ermey has a few words on the subject.... http://www.thehollywoodliberal.com/full_metal_bush2_6.jpg
  11. You must have him in Talksox League #2 because I have him in this league. Anyone interested in Shelton? If so, make me an offer, I need help in the OF. Commish, you are interested in trading Bay for a good SS? I have Lugo, scheduled to come off the DL this Friday, and Hanley, interested in either?
  12. ORS

    oh word?

    Aloha.
  13. You know, if you are going to act like a 12 y/o f***tard, couldn't you at least try and have the name sound like the real name? Gay Devils or Devil Gays? Choice seems pretty obvious to me.
  14. Yeah, when those two and Mirabelli's and Pena's all came up short I said to myself, nothing is getting out tonight. Manny put charge into one right after Ortiz finally beat the wind also. Ortiz' ball must have been completely destroyed. EDIT: Hittrackeronline.com lists it's true distance at 395 ft, with an estimated distance of 460 ft (-54 wind impact, -12 temperature impact).
  15. He's always thrown very good breaking balls. They are his best pitches. His problem was, and likely still is, an inability to locate his FB well. AL hitters waited on his FB and let him fall behind, knowing that a curve or slider was coming down the pike. I haven't watched him yet, but ST reports (and results) suggest he hadn't chagned much in that regard. Maybe the Cincy staff noticed something the Sox staff missed and helped him out, but if he was here, that change doesn't get made and we have the same old Bronson.
  16. Uh, snap out of it, that was me. Yes, sub-.500 in no RBI for Manny games, but not winless as you said. I didn't put those words out there, you did. Speaking of team dimensions, the Yankees are 3-9 in games where Giambi has no RBI. f***ing one-dimensional slackers.....
  17. Regardless of what he's doing in the NL against hitters unfamiliar with him, we know what he would have given us here - league average innings. Those have some value, but not enough IMO. Would you rather have 5-7 league average innings every 5th day or Wily Mo over Willie Harris EVERY day?
  18. Hanley Ramirez and Taylor Buccholz would be in contention for the NL award, but since both leagues recognize a ROY, they won't affect Papelbon's chances.
  19. Doubt this one gets played, but just in case, here's some more Full Metal Jacket mojo.... Go Animal Mother on their asses. http://www.afan.dk/firefly/ffpic/ab_fmj096a.jpg
  20. No spin needed? I agree, but I'm not the one doing it. No wins w/o Papi-Manny? 10-5 in games where Papi has no RBI. 9-10 in games where Manny has no RBI. 5-5 in games when neither drive a run in. Not fantastic, but it blows your assertion out of the water. Back to the drawing board. WOW WE ARE FANTASTIC? Funny, I don't recall saying that. But don't let the facts get in your way when you are acting like a 6 y/o sore loser.
  21. *whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* What's that noise? Sounds like Riv's spin machine operating at maximum load. Quit your bitching Riv, the Yanks lost. The guy brought in to face Papi served up a meatball in his first chance, and that decided the ballgame. And what's with the "aside from Papi and Manny" s***. By that logic, aside from nobody, the Yanks sucked last night going 4/29 as a team. Lose like a man, Nancy.
  22. Where about in VA are you Buckeye? I'm from just below the Mason Dixon line myself. Born and raised in Fairfax.
  23. There just aren't enough tough plays in CF to justify having Willie Harris in the lineup all game. Willie gets the late innings in close games and that is it IMO. Keep Pena's bat in the lineup.
  24. He actually is a rookie this year. You need 50+ IP or 30+ days on the roster prior to September 1 to lose rookie status. He came up in mid-August last year, so no 30+ days, and only pitched 34 innings. If he keeps this up, the ROY is a lock.
