  1. Now it makes sense. Why does ESPN bother with sideline reporters, don't get me wrong I love me some Erin Andrews, but shouldn't that come out in the broadcast? Instead we get more mental diarrhea from Joe Morgan.
  2. That makes sense. It also makes sense for a guy with serious insider information to not blow it all out in one book. Piecemeal it, and he makes more money. I didn't bring it up because I think or care either way about what ARod (or Ortiz) did or does, but with Canseco's track record on the subject, it's unfair to call anyone stupid for suggesting it. Although, it is kind of fun to ruffle the feathers of Fanboy #1.
  3. Wah, whiney ****.
  4. One thing that is getting lost in the non-coverage of this game is Girardi's move with Molina and Posada, is the fact that Girardi gave up the DH to have Betemit run for his catcher. Plus he put an injured catcher into the game with no backup. I hope these, giving up the DH and skipping his starter when it looks like rain, are the types of decisions we'll get all year.
  5. Paulie's serving up meatballs. Too bad Pedroia needs to cut the s*** with trying to grab extra bases. He's not slow, but he's not fast.
  6. Look who's up, does it matter? If Cano gets on, we get our LOOGY who can't get lefties out.
  7. How in the hell do you walk a scrub like Gonzalez? For a club with an offensive focus on plate discipline, the FO seems queerly permissive of pitchers without strikezone command.
  8. Please, VA, do not try and talk Gom down. His impatience with prospects provides the perfect balance to Jacko's undying love for them (all of them). I love seeing those two go at it with their completely polar opposite takes on the issue. One of the rare treats here.
  9. We can't seem to keep porn-boy off the bases.
  10. Is the logic now... Proctor : Torre :: Aardsma : Tito He seems to pitch every game.
  11. I'd like to see more of Casey playing against RHP. Aside from booting the DP ball against Toronto, he's been a big contributor. Jesus, Tek. The guy just walked two and his out pitch is a sinker. Take a pitch.
  12. Been tuned in the whole time, but was busy until now. Aside from import looking like he attended the Jon Lester School of Power Nibbling, this has been a phantastic game. Phun times. As a bonus, we get Dorf on Baseball.
  13. Bard is in A ball. I think the guy responsible for this line in Pawtucket should get a look as immediate help before we mess with the development of Masterson and Hagadone, or look at Bard seriously. 4 G, 7.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 8 K
  14. Has Canseco been wrong yet?
  15. Well, short of going to a bar and watching it with other people, the computer is an effective way for people who like to discuss the game. I mean, it's not like we are some geek who needs to be left alone to jerk off to Michael Kay's voice. Gotta admit, you had that one coming.
  16. You don't? You had a loud out in the 1st, and Cabrera's liner caught. The rest was tame and most of the threat was Clay putting people on when he lost command in the 5th.
  17. If you'd care to pay attention, I haven't taken issue with your predictions (I think I was clear what value they hold to me). I've taken issue with your definition of what's a good offense relative to last year's team.
  18. Wang pitched a good game, and the results look dominant, but be honest, what did he dominate? This wasn't Pedro giving up 1 HR and that's it while striking out 17. He got 24 outs on balls in play. Only one fell in for a hit (the HR is not a ball in play). 1/24, and several of those balls had some hair on them on their way away from the plate. He was good, but I'd welcome him pitching exactly the same way in a rematch, especially in warmer weather with the amount of fly balls he was giving up.
  19. 4th of 30 being good is not really an opinion. Here is an opinion. I think Stupid needs to be told it's stupid. Otherwise, Stupid will happily carry on in the bliss of ignorance, without ever being freed from the schackles of stupidity. I believe you do your fellow man a disservice when you allow unfettered stupidity to go uncorrected under the guise of "opinion". Stupid is stupid, and it needs to be identified and eliminated.
  20. I could care less about your feelings. And, no, no ignore. If you don't like the feedback, think before you post.
  21. Exactly, so save us the predictions Kreskin. I'm not one to assign much confidence to any prediction, but I'm more proned to listen when the person knows that the 4th best offense out of 30 is a good offense.
