  1. ?? i dont see him as consistent just because he throws a knuckleball. Its plain and simple that Tim Wakefield on top lasts an average 7 innings a game, Matt Clement, Bronson Arroyo and David Wells each last an average 6 innings a game. And with Wade Miller's average being under 6.--sure he is the only pitcher that gives a steady dose of knuckle balls but hey he mixes it up with fastballs and curveballs, the homeruns this season have all been on the knuckleball that he sometimes hangs it up there in the zone--He is a notch veteran of the Red Sox, been there since 1995--he ranks third in wins by a pitcher at 124, only behind Roger Clemens and Cy Young--hes third in strikoeuts at 1418, only behind Roger and Pedro--and is also in third for games, appearing in 409 games
  2. Boone back with Tribe next season Guardians exercise 2006 club option on third baseman By Steve Herrick / Special to MLB.com CLEVELAND -- Third baseman Aaron Boone will be back with the Guardians next season. The Guardians have restructured and exercised the 2006 club option on their third baseman. The deal also includes a mutual player/club option for the 2007 season. Boone is hitting .226 (74-for-327) with 13 doubles, 10 homers and 38 RBIs in 92 games this season but has picked up his production of late. He's hitting .298 with nine doubles, six homers and 23 RBIs in 47 games since June 4. Boone is batting .290 in 18 games since the All-Star break. Defensively, he has 10 errors in 250 total chances. Boone, 32, missed the entire 2004 season after injuring his left knee playing basketball in the offseason following the 2003 season. He was released by the Yankees and signed with the Guardians on June 26, 2004. Boone, a seven-year veteran, is a career .265 hitter with the Reds, Yankees and Guardians.
  3. true game 7 ended with embree's fist pump
  4. Sox have had their bad follys of 05 as well. Schilling on DL after 3 starts but will be starting very soon, Embree, Mantei who did bad then went on DL, ditto for Foulke who is expected this month, ditto again for Bellhorn whos on DL Rehab in Triple A 0 for 8 with 4 strikeouts, John Halamma, Ramon Vazquez, Cla Meredith
  5. who knows, next season Sox could shift to a 6 man rotation
  6. David Wells was signed for a 2 season contract, and Clement had signed a contract for 3 years
  7. because tito stated they are going to have papelbon become a starter for the team most likely next season, besides wade signed just a one season contract--hey calm down alright, i like the guy its just that is the way its looking like so far for 06
  8. Schilling, Wells, Wakefield and Clement are already going to be #1-4 starters. I see Sox not renewing Wade's contract, making Bronson the new long reliever of the bullpen, with Papelbon being the #5 starter
  9. not the first this season Tim Redding, Darrell May, Sean Henn, Al Leiter, and Melky Cabrera
  10. well if anything yankees will be very much active for starting pitchers next season. Sox will be pretty much set with Schilling, Wells, Clement, Wakefield, with the 5th starter going Papelbon, Bronson and Wade who both contracts are up this season, bronson having the 06 club option
  11. bet anything yankees will try to sign jason schmidt in the offseason
  12. He will not and hope he doesnt pass Babe Ruth, he doesnt deserve to pass the greatness of a player that was Babe Ruth who had used pure human power
  13. actually, hmm ,its very convenient of Barry Bonds now releasing a statement saying he will not return this season just a day after raffy got caught
  14. yea i was worrying about that last night, he looked just so pale and sick
  15. ah wow I had seats close to there for the 7/31 game, you have great seats, thats like the 10th row from the field, bullpens are just20/25 feet away from you--Get there early before the game and can sit in front row seats if not taken and able to meet sox pitchers like bronson, curt even tek will stand against the wall while practing his throwing, trust me its what i did ill get some pics on here for what you'll basically be seeing
  16. hey yankees will now have some more cap room to sign another big name NL pitcher, who could or couldnt do a good job for them. Matsui's contract is also up at the end of the season
  17. um yeah (1) you notice that im a sox fan (2) also that was big on sarcasm on my last post of them
  18. case in point just a .167 batting average with Runners in Scoring Position, buet hey Im not worrying about this for now as its not looking like anytime soon he will be called back up from Triple A
  19. Ny is hoping for a win against Tampa, 3 out of 4 two times this season, as D-Rays hold a 7-3 record for 05 thus far and KC had swept the yanks earlier this season
  20. id say possible if randy johnson and mussina are able to pitch that much
  21. but still yea he was able to settle down after the solo shot in the 2nd inning, hes the most consistent starter in how long he will go into the game to give the Sox a chance to rally back, he always has seemed to last 7 innings or more each game, one being a complete game against the Yankees. Wakefield celebrated his 39th bday with a win and definitely there will be more wins, he did sign a 3 season extension back in April giving him 14 seasons with the Sox also big props to Tony G, who is making a big contribution thus far in his first 9 games as #10
  22. Yankees really have had no strides on the road, just 23-27 which ranks them 10th in the American League. Sox rank 4th at 29-27
