  1. Well this will certainly help Minnesota in the offense department. Soriano reportedly claimed by Twins By Jesse Sanchez / MLB.com The Minnesota Twins have claimed second baseman Alfonso Soriano off waivers, according to a report in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The report states the Twins claimed Soriano to block a trade to another team and the clubs do not expect to make a deal. Last month, the Rangers and the Twins talked about Soriano before the July 31 trade deadline but could not come to an agreement because the Rangers reportedly wanted highly touted Minor League pitcher Francisco Liriano and the Twins were not willing to part with him. The Rangers and the Twins have 48 hours to work out a deal. Should the clubs not come to an agreement by Monday, the Rangers can pull him back or let him go to the Twins. If he is pulled back, Soriano cannot be traded for the rest of the season. Soriano entered play Sunday hitting .282 with 30 home runs and 84 RBIs.
  2. hmm there was somebody who produced the game winning hit today
  3. exactly and besides helllloooo "Sox GM", Furcal is the bread and butter of the Braves young players. I dont see him leaving anytime soon. And its not 26 errors its 23, you bash on Edgar and cant give exact stats. Boston players are not sent to steal bases as much, because the offense they have stealing bases is not that important
  4. noonanberg, didnt Tito tell Sveum to give Roberts the signal to steal 2nd? of course one of the best moments of the New York series on a cold late October night
  5. Wells, Clement and Schilling will start for the Royals series
  6. If Kapler goes on to another team, Id like to see the Sox call up Dave Berg from Triple A who in 98 games this season has had a batting avg of .308, and his OBP is at .401. Before Pawtucket he had played for Toronto Blue Jays
  7. hmm maybe a sendup on Tuesday, and do I hope so much for them to make room by Remlinger getting DFA'd and chased out of the Boston city limits??
  8. If Sox do resign Mueller, what Im thinking is that transition Youk to starter, and Mueller as backup. Because really after a good 2004 season for Youk and then being a yo you in 2005 he more than deserves to get the start, and Mueller becoming a backup.
  9. definitely i see him as a starter in 2006--besides those games of possibly filling in for wake if needs be, and wells' suspension, I see for now through the big September pennant race stretch paps could be dominant helping out in long relief, setup, maybe even help timlin close some games
  10. remember that the deep bruise in wakefield's ankle might get him off his routine
  11. Angels as Remy said was the true test for Papelbon. And in 6 innings of work the 24 year old rookie held the 5th best offense scoreless. Including doing a "Pedro" type move going in to Vladimir to rattle him up, it worked as 2nd pitch later struck him out
  12. since the all star break Edgahh has been hitting .310 with 12 Doubles, HR, 19 RBIs, 17 Walks, and just 25 K's in 138 at bats. Just sit back and relax because he is helping the Sox win games
  13. Wells thinks since he is always starting s*** with the umps and management that the MLB purely doesnt like him, we all know he speaks his mind haha. He thinks they could have him serve that during the big September series
  14. papelbon will undoubtedly make another start, remember that sometime the MLB is going to enforce the 6 day suspension on David Wells. though its taken them so far like month and a half to do so.
  15. His first 3 games has limited Twins, Tigers, and now the 5th best offense in the AL the Angels--all 3 teams 3 runs or less. His ERA is now 2.25
  16. niice game, good one to have and capitalize on yankees' loss, haha johnson 4 homeruns in the same inning. Best defense: Manny 's over the shoulder catch hitting the wall, varitek catching two runners, and Tony G's definite web gems play best pitching: papelbon making his 3rd consecutive great start, and at same time shouldve gotten his 3rd win in his career. And Timlin holding down the Angels in 2 innings. Curt got by luckily after 3 hits, 1 run, defense in the oufield had bailed him out. best offense: Edgahh, 2 for 4 with a Double, the game winning HR, 3 RBIs--and Manny to cap on a 2 run shot to center field, after ortiz's unexpected bunt
  17. they'll probably have curt do the 9th im thinking
  18. edgahh and manny gettin it done! haha what happened to guybo, havent seen him in awhile
  19. thank you tek!! now cmon lets move him on
  20. 15 in a row, together manny and ortiz are 0 for 6
  21. excellent job Paps, Now in his first 16 innings has allowed 5 runs. cmon bullpen dont f***in crumble!!!
  22. trust me this will be his last season with the O's, no team wants a player with that kind of attention. besides just turned 43 this year
  23. nice hustling to the bag ortiz, 14 in a row...
