  1. omg im so f***ing psyched right now with curt coming back to the rotation, trot expected back shortly and quite possibly a healthier foulke in the next week or so. Im trying to not to get too ahead of myself, but ah good times im feeling it!!
  2. very true could we be watching a rehash of the 1978 series when Sox had like a 12 game lead going into August/September and just blew it. I think I heard in the last 20 home games, White Sox has only won 6
  3. guess i understand the situation, yankees game starts at 1, while the Sox game starts at 415
  4. and of course I would be interested but really in September Im going to be working lots of long hours at my work mixed with family stuff, all is good because I got tix for the Oct 1 & 2nd games against the Yanks close by to the Yankees' dugout--I had left Sox Fan a message earlier explaing but I thank him for keeping me in the loop like that
  5. i was responding to Sox Fan's post
  6. ugh yeah me too, damn it its been awhile since I last saw a yankees game. On my tv its paid programing, stargate and then a preview of Fox fall season

  8. Awesome get to see the Yankees game today because its on Fox, go White Sox!! El Duque tries to knock out streak Yankees (66-54) at White Sox (74-45), 12:20 p.m. CT Home might be where the heart is, as the old saying goes. But it certainly hasn't been where the offense or victories are for the White Sox. With Friday's 3-1 setback to the Yankees, the White Sox now have a 6-14 record over their last 20 games at U.S. Cellular Field. They also have scored two runs or fewer in six of their last nine games overall and four runs or fewer in eight of their last nine. They are averaging 3.08 runs per game over their last nine. The offense has hit such a deep chasm that Friday became just the third time this season the Yankees have won a game by scoring three runs or fewer. But the White Sox will try to put an end to their six-game losing streak Saturday afternoon, with Orlando Hernandez on the mound. Hernandez took the disappointing loss last Monday at Yankee Stadium, despite allowing three earned runs on four hits over six innings. Hernandez has not made an official start since that night. He took the mound Sunday in Boston, but the game was rained out after two rain delays covering 4 hours, 34 minutes. The former Yankees hurler suffered his first loss on the road since April 14 when pitching at Yankee Stadium on Aug. 8. Shawn Chacon gets the call for the Yankees. He was the hard-luck loser in the second game of the series in New York, giving up one run on three hits over seven innings. While first baseman Paul Konerko is day-to-day, his back should keep him out of action Saturday. Pitching matchup NYY: RHP Shawn Chacon • 1-1, 2.16 ERA in 2005 • 0-1, 1.28 in 2005 vs. CWS CWS: RHP Orlando Hernandez • 8-5, 4.67 ERA in 2005 • 0-1, 4.50 in 2005 vs. NYY
  9. And to think Tony G came over from that team
  10. Keith Foulke had asked for there to be no screen to make it feel as real as they can make it
  11. and i was talking about an idea i had for a t-shirt
  12. no not sure entirely about that. haha me and my friends thought of this t-shirt and it would show the Sox dugout with sitting down are embree, halamma, and remlinger. Below that it will say in bold print Got Relief?
  13. now tomorrow remlinger DFA'd, maybe?
  14. best at bat was hands down roberto petagine with a 10 pitch at bat drawing the walk to load the bases for Manny. Olerud and Manny for best offense, Olerud had went 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs
  15. best pitcher: draw between clement and schil who had their best quality starts in some time, clement deserved that win dishonorable mention: timlin who has allowed 4 hits in last 2 innings pitched, 3 runs best defense: all around the board with cora diving for a fly ball, mueller, sliding for a foul, and 2 great turned double plays offense should have been better than what it was, 16 men left on thru the 10 innings--but yes 70-50 record now
  16. Orsillo whyd you have to jinx them and say "well if they leave the bases loaded..." right after he had went into that olerud grounded out to 2nd base--i guess at least we were able to get to lackey to throw like 30 pitches his 1st inning
  17. im watching the NESN pre-game report, that would have been said already
  18. white sox threatening, men on corners on 1 out

  20. Just was watching New England Sports Tonight on FSN, and they said "this just has happened today while Keith Foulke was having a throwing session; on the 2nd pitch Trot Nixon hit a line drive to his pitching elbow. Foulke walked away from the mound grumbling" details are sketchy now but look for more information during tonight's game.

  23. we arent just picking on millar cuz its easy, besides look at the bazillion posts about Mike Remlinger
  24. Continuing my game threads of the Yankee games, 2-1 record for me so far. Go White Sox!! Garland set for opener vs. Yanks Yankees (65-54) at White Sox (74-44), 7:05 p.m. CT Friday It's easy for players to say that no one series is bigger than another, but when the Yankees come to town all that talk is thrown out the window. The White Sox host New York for a three-game series beginning on Friday, and though the awe factor of facing the star-studded team has worn off for a veteran like Paul Konerko, the excitement of facing them never goes away. "Every series [the Yankees] play against every team in the league, that team tries to bring their best game," Konerko said. "That's just the way it is, and they still produce and they still win. No other team has to deal with what they have to deal with. Maybe Boston, I guess." That determination to bring the best comes even in seasons like this one, in which the Yankees aren't leading the Major Leagues in many statistical catergories and even trail Boston in their own division race. For Koneko and his teammates, it doesn't matter if the Yankees are not the powerhouse team of old, because Konerko knows that the team is dangerous in any meeting. "You know they have all the stars and you know that if you give them an inch, they're going to take a mile, as far as scoring runs [goes]," Konerko said. "But I also think it's good, because it raises your level of play." The Sox are just hoping that Jon Garland is able to be the pitcher he has been all season when he takes the mound on Friday. Garland has struggled in some of his recent starts, but is still having the best season of his career. This will be his first outing against the Yankees this season and it comes at home, where he has a 10-3 record and a 3.31 ERA. Mike Mussina will get the start for New York. Mussina faced the Sox on Aug. 8 and picked up his 11th victory of the season as he allowed two runs on eight hits in six innings of work. Pitching matchup: NYY: RHP Mike Mussina • 11-7, 4.00 ERA in 2005 • 1-0, 3.00 vs. CWS in 2005 CWS: RHP Jon Garland • 16-6, 3.47 ERA in 2005 • Has not faced NYY in 2005
