  11. Lets Go Jays, at least a split :dunno: to everyone, tonights game will be on ESPN at 7, get urself an hour fix before the Sox game starts Blue Jays seeking end to skid Toronto (63-62) at New York (69-55), 7:05 p.m. ET After dropping two straight games to the Yankees, the Blue Jays play New York on Wednesday night in the third game of a four-game set. David Bush takes the mound for Toronto with a chance to rebound after losing his last two decisions. Bush has struggled on the road, losing four of his seven games away from the Rogers Centre. Bush was knocked around during his most recent outing, a 9-5 loss to the Tigers. He allowed four runs, two earned, and five hits in 2 2/3 innings. Bush will be opposed by Mike Mussina, who's looking to win his third straight start. Mussina has pitched well at Yankee Stadium. His home ERA of 3.09 is 10th in the American League. He allowed five hits and one run in seven innings during his last start, a 3-1 victory against the White Sox. Pitching matchup TOR: RHP David Bush • 2-7, 4.65 ERA in 2005 • 0-0, 3.68 ERA vs. NYY in 2005 NYY: RHP Mike Mussina • 12-7, 3.88 ERA in 2005 • 1-0, 5.07 ERA vs. TOR in 2005
  12. before he signed with the Red Sox, was actually contemplating retirement
  13. ?? dude check your stats because you are no wheres correct. in August in 14 innings he has given up 12 hits, 7 runs, 3 walks, 6 Ks for a 4.50 ERA----We are talking about what he has done in 12 straight innings of relief, just relinquishing 3 hits and no runs http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/5750/splits
  14. been fan of his when he first came on board as a temp starter even if couple were shaky. 12 2/3 straight scoreless innings with just 3 hits, he is the bullpen's unsung hero. and if keep peforming like this through the stretch of September, he is more than deserving to be put on the playoffs roster
  15. The deal has gone south but not because "rangers pulled him back off of waivers" Rangers wanted Twins to give up their top pitching prospect for Soriano, and that had the Twins quickly backtrack from this
  16. without a doubt it should be recognized as a historical landmark
  17. Matt Perisho is deserving for a Sept 1 call up at least, In 9 games of relief (9.2 innings) he has an ERA of just over 3, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits, 4 Walks, 6 strikeouts
  18. best offense: edgar continuing to hit, 3 for 5 tonight, could be a 300 avg by season's end--Double, 2 singles, RBI, 2 Runs oddly dishonorable mention would go to Tony G who was 0 for 4 and also had worst defense with 2 errors best pitching: Jeremi Gonzalez, 3 scoreless innings in relief with 3 Ks and 1 walk. Gonzo has now gone 12 2/3 straight scoreless innings in relief dishonrable mention: in past 4 games Timlin has allowed 5 runs to score...
  19. he has appeared in his 63rd game, one more than tom gordon this season
  20. good all around effort except for timlin, thre 35 pitches and allowed 2 runs to take the shutout away from the Sox--In his last 4 games of relief, Timlin has allowed 5 runs to score
  21. Vernon Wells solo jack to left field!!!!!
  22. Trot is back in the lineup today  This lineup rocks!! 1) Johnny Damon cf 2) Edgar Renterria ss 3) David Ortiz dh 4) Manny Ramirez lf 5) Trot Nixon rf 6) Jason Varitek c 7) John Olerud 1b 8) Bill Mueller 3b 9) Tony Graffanino 2b
