    top prospects such as Lester, Hanley, Pedroia, Hansen are pretty much off the tabs, future Red Sox players. But, theres always Sanchez and Alvarez who were both rumored to be in the dud AJ Burnett trade deal----but hey why not Kelly Shoppach?? I mean the Mets will lose Mike Piazza next season. I say Sox go for it, to get a quality starting pitcher through the September pennant push. Roberto Petagine is more of the oddman out than Olerud

    if you checked the stats, he owns the Sox. In 5 games, he is 2-1 with a friggin 1.32 ERA !!??

    my friend from ny said he heard bellhorn has said to ny media of how he has played every position on the field except for pitcher and catcher. "and is willing to do whatever he can for the Yankees". a little bit of revenge against the Sox maybe? considering he was about to sign on the dotted line with the A's until George called him up

    sox offense have to be patient and not swing right away at the 1st pitch they see--This kid is the D-Rays' ace and has been a pain in the ass for the Red Sox

    omg i really hope a deal is in place, even if sox have to give up an abe alvarez or brandon moss, because lets face it, pitching is the key down the stretch right now. Traschel could save Sox from having to go to a minor leaguer on friday game 1 against the Orioles. Then take Bronson's slot, and place Bronson in the pen as a long reliever

    Boston.com has just indicated Foulke is in place to come back Sept 1. In other news Chad Harville will join the team for tonight's game, and don the #43. maybe alvarez gets moved back down

    Sox will be getting another lefty reliever in the bullpen, Matt Perisho (an ex Marlin) will be called up on Thursday. In 12 games with the Paw Sox has done very well posting a 2.13 ERA. In his time with the Marlins this season in 24 games had a very nice 1.93 ERA. I think he had got injured this season so they had moved him down to Triple A for a rehab assignment, where he had pretty much faltered having an ERA of under 12. But seeing things go so far, that Marlins Triple A was probably just him trying to get back into the groove he had earlier on.

    Giambi back on the roids, his second homer of the game (5 RBIs) puts the yanks ahead 5-4. After going back into another slump of hitiing .188 for the month of August, Giambi has all a sudden in last 2 games hit 4 homeruns with 12 RBIs

    very good game but the score shouldnt have been close as it was. I was sure after Abe gave up 3 consecutive hits in the 8th and 2 runs, that was it for him and Timlin would come and start the 9th because he was warming up in the bullpen.

    Harville has been pretty much lights out in his last 15.2 innings with the Astros giving up just 2 runs

    Olerud def needs to stay on, his defense alone i way better than Petagine Sox get Steve Traschel, and a minor leaguer Mets get Roberto Petagine, and Abe Alavarez

    im not just saying this because of abe's performance tonight 1.1 innings pitched, 6 hits and 3 runs turning an easy 10-2 game into a somewhat tense game of now 10-5 with 2 men on and one out--but if Mets were to ask for bullpen help, id have theo give up abe to get Steve Traschel

    hour, 45 minutes but he was still acting like his first half self, and dude its best to give this bullpen rest

    ok im just a lil surprised clement is being pulled after just 5 innings of work, yeah he gave up the leadoff walk but only threw like 80 pitches and its strain on the bullpen to do 4 innings
