  1. I happily chanted Yooouk the whole game. How about that sweet sliding basket catch he had made?
  2. Hey guys, back from the game. I loved my return to Fenway my 2nd home. Undoubtedly the biggest standing O was given to Papi. I was sitting in the right field box seats, right close by to where Papi's HR fell. And ugh I saw up close and personal, Willy's catch-turned-HR. The place really became electric in the 9th inning when the bullpen door had opened. Everyone knew that it was our boy Paps. I'll try to post my pics when I get it all loaded into my comp
  3. Is Clippard even ranked as high as Lester is on prospect lists?
  4. Where did I say that in my post? All I did was relay which impending free agent I think will end up in pinstripes. Anyways he's still a young pitcher, young enough to re-find his cy young stuff, if possible.
  5. Derrek Lee was the sure bet, as both Theo & Cashman have been known to covet him. Im not sure about the starting pitcher area as of now, for Boston that is: Schilling, Wakefield, Beckett, Clement, Papelbon and Lester are still under Sox control through next season. I got a feeling that Zito could be in pinstripes next year.
  6. The official number is out at $52 million. His salary previously believed to be 12.5, will actually be $14 million over 4 years.
  7. I was hoping to see another Sox vs Yankees free agent bidding war. Im sure there will be another one in the future
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2404132 5 years/$65 million.
  9. The extension erases the 2007 option they held on him. $12..5 million per season from 2007 - 2010. A 5th season option for 2011 is also rightfully written into there
  10. Phew sigh of relief. I knew 6-8 weeks sounded like a stretch
  11. Even with Wily Mo Pena, i got a feeling that we are going to be seeing Stern get more AB's as the center fielder. Let alone he would be a serviceable leadoff hitter. Now is the question, who gets called up? Previously it was all but confirmed that Willie Harris would get promoted once Stern's 17 days are through. However I believe Dustan Mohr would be the better bet, more pop coming off of the bench. His spring was very deserving of a spot on the roster.
  12. The report also said that Crisp will be checked up tomorrow, so its not yet actually definite that he will be out.
  13. It was the home opening series... Now if it was the 2nd series at Fenway park or later on against NY, then yeah I could see your point. The White Sox also got their rings before playing against the Guardians. Its all about the schedule
  14. All I know is that the Yankees wouldve gone nowhere without Chacon & Small being brought in to stabilize the starting staff.
  15. What led the way for the Yankees to battle back was felt greatly from the emergence of Chacon and Small having career years. They went 17-3 for you guys
  16. eh well this was his first time pitching back to back save opportunites. It was also the same batters he had faced last night. Overall, he still has the pitches to get the big outs. Foulke will get together eventually, until then Paps is the best option to close.
  17. where's the nesn station located? i got a call for them Cut to commercial with Manny at bat
  18. 1-2-3 8th inning for Foulke with 2 Ks Watch out for our pen if Foulke regains any of his former self

  24. This is Trot's contract year, so in his mindset its "now or nothing". I do understand that this year Wily Mo's main role is to hit against lefties, as I have indicated in several of my posts in this thread. I was just saying that if Trot continues to hit well against lefties, Tito will then be torn between starting Trot or Wily against lefties.
  25. I know that they acquired him for more of means for next season. His main role will be hitting against lefties for Trot this year. But Tito might give Trot more AB's against lefties if he continues to hit like does, thats just my main concern that Wily Mo gets out of rythm sitting more on the bench than he told he was going to get.
