  1. Adam Stern is next batting, then Alex Cora (please pinch hit Loretta here Tito!!)
  2. getting out of bases loaded/no outs gave Pineiro a shot of confidence 1-2 innings (53 pitches) 3 Hits, 2 Walks 3-5 innings (36 pitches) 1 Hit
  3. 6 men LOB through 4 innings, a trend is starting to take shape now
  4. haha yea ok Im sure Tito is going to go to the pen this early, Wake & Bard arent exactly blowing up right now
  5. woohoo, 5 men left on base in the first 2 innings, 2nd straight game!! situational hitting is still lacking
  6. god forbid if im frigging optimistic then yea... Baltimore & Texas lineups arent actually cake-walks for starting pitchers
  7. cmon Manny, another pitcher you have had success before. Show the magic
  8. Schilling looks to continue what he has done so far. His next 3 starts are Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Tampa Bay
  9. they'll need to with Jaret Not-So-Wright starting
  10. picture that speaks 1000 words http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/photo?slug=mnah10504150146.yankees_twins_baseball_mnah105&prov=ap
  11. Factor in this 2005 stat: Games in which Sox scored 2 runs or less, 3-22 record
  12. three 2-1 victories so far, considerably more than we saw last year. Would that be Schil off to a 3-0 start with a 1.71 ERA? Papelbon 5 for 5 with saves, currently leads the majors
  13. Questionable call for loretta to bunt, he is a contact hitter. 7 men stranded
  14. 30 pitches in 2 innings, I really have no complaints
  15. todays lineups Seattle Ichiro Suzuki rf Jose Lopez 2b Raul Ibanez lf Richie Sexson 1b Adrian Beltre 3b Carl Everett dh (Fenway boo-birds singing tonight) Kenji Johjima c Jeremy Reed cf Yuniesky Betancourt ss Boston Kevin Youkilis 1b Mark Loretta 2b David Ortiz dh Manny Ramirez lf Jason Varitek c Mike Lowell 3b Dustan Mohr cf Wily Mo Pena rf Alex Gonzalez ss
  16. Wakefield's 1st start was against the Rangers, the AL team he has done worst again. How quick you forget that he bounced back to win his 2nd start. I wasnt saying that I want a double-header, but its the only solution. The calendar shows they have 2 series this season, both of which have no off-days before or after. Actually there were 2 Sox DH's last season. A split with the Mariners, and split with the Blue Jays. So they didnt lose their game every time in recent memory.
  17. If they cancel tonight's game early on, they could end up doing a double-header tomorrow.
  18. May Manny find his power swing tonight, against a pitcher he has total ownage over. Also expecting another good start from Schil, lets see a 3-0 start to the season for him.
  19. Clement's next start is against the D-Rays: A team that he has been able to hold his own against. I knew right off that his start against the Blue Jays was something to worry about
  20. eh there wasnt that much buzz about Riske anyway. Besides we have the reserves in pitchers: DiNardo, DelCarmen, Lester, Hansen, Van Buren, Holtz, Breslow, Meredith As for Crisp: I do believe Stern & Mohr can hold steady the position until Crisp returns. 2004 saw Nomar & Trot be hurt for a good part of the beginning of 2004 season, we did alright.
  21. Keep dreaming that his start of the season was all smoke & mirrors. Let alone that each season he has gotten better in each categor, the guy is 26 and just entering his prime. 3 years at $15.5 million, man Theo is really breaking the bank here, very bad move indeed. But yea yankee fans' logic, "well he could still be a bust..."
  22. 6 consecutive poor performances? Havent really been following his stats for this season then
  23. Even though it was guaranteed that Crisp would be arbitration eligible, the Sox FO avoided all that and extended his contract through 2010. If Beckett continues to pitch the way he does and stays healthy, an extension for him shouldnt be that far off as well  http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/04/12/red_sox_sign_crisp_to_3_year_extension/
  24. I'm ut for today's game as well, here's today's pitcher vs batter matchups. I'll try to get the pics from yesterday's game loaded into the photo gallery before i leave my house. Here's hoping Wells continues his success in Fenway Park, and rights the ship from his stats against Toronto. As well as Manny to break the cover off the ball. On WEEI, they just reported that Mohr will get the starts in center field when lefty starting pitchers take the mound.
  25. Papelbon's current closer song is "Glory Days" by Bruce Springsteen, haha. He was quoted as wanting a song that was more closer-ish. Though it did get everybody in the stands to sing along with it when Paps was headed to the mound.
