  1. Paps 16 for 16 Beckett has now improved his season record to 7-1. In May he is 4-0 in 5 starts and his Ks per 9 are starting to build back up
  2. 15 men left on base (Season High). Even though they are set to win this... --Its Tampa Bay pitching (among worst) --Papa Jack's pep talk after the game will probably come
  3. haha Clement would like to have an autograph from Bill Russell, the Celtics great who is visiting Fenway Park today. Russell has yet to sign that for him:harhar:
  4. If its anything more than 3-run lead, i dont see reason why to put Papelbon in. Dont want to overuse him. Give Riske some work in
  5. yay 2-0. But Sox have left Waechter (like Wright, Johnson) off the hook by leaving 6 baserunners in the first 3 innings
  6. haha Im sure you got a name mixed up there, Towers is the sorriest pitcher of the Blue Jays Staff who has a 9.00 ERA in 10 starts this season. Hence him being demoted to Triple A. I think you mean Ted Lilly, who will be opposing Haz-Matt Clement next week. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7. With Oakland being a currently contending team, I dont see them trading away one of their strengths (starting pitching). Oakland will know that we need starting pitching, so it would take more than Lester. IMO, not worth talking about because my money says he will stay with Oakland for the 2006 season. In 2007, he will don pinstripes
  8. http://rotoworld.com/content/story.asp?sport=MLB&storyid=21959 El Duque has been traded to the Mets for Jorge Julio
  9. He's still owed $18 million, so Im not sure its that easy to DFA him. I hope Lester can continue to churn out some good innings. Then just dump Clement onto whatever team.
  10. He's still owed $18 million, so Im not sure its that easy to DFA him. I hope Lester can continue to churn out some good innings. Then just dump Clement onto whatever team.
  11. The Giants have interest in reacquiring Snow. The $2 million salary might be too much they can handle for him, but would do it if Sox ate part of the salary. Theo make it so http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2006/05/24/SPG4LJ0C5E1.DTL
  12. If he throws nothing special, nothing dominating, fast ball is so-so then I guess why yankee fans could see he's gonna get rocked... No wait he has a fastball that stays consistent around 95 (sometimes can get it at 97/98), nasty splitter taught by Schilling, cutter, and has been working on a slider. As you guys said, he throws nothing special
  13. True Cora has been making contact, and even singled in the 9th off of Mariano to try and give the Sox a chance to tie the game up at least. Gonzalez is in a 1 for 20 slump, Cora these past 2 games has had 5 hits in 8 ABs
  14. Id really like to hear your insight on how he throws "nothing special"
  15. as I said, records are skewed because RJ has been getting an average of 5+ Runs a game. Wake is just at 3 or less runs avg during the innings has pitched Im sure you think these stats dont say anything of whos having the better season RJ- 5.62 ERA-- 9 HRs allowed in 57 innings Wake- 4.57 ERA--- 7 Hrs allowed in 65 innings
  16. Insightful post. Hows your 17 million pitcher RJ? Wakefield still has had a better season than he has. RJ has only got his 5 wins because of high run support.
  17. Your starting pitching has to show its worth. The Yankees arent alway sgoing to give them 5+ Runs of support. Mussina- Ace of this staff by far, 17+ Wins-- 3.25-3.50 ERA Johnson- showing his age Chacon- on DL currently, too much of a wild pitcher to have trust in Wright- Tonight's start still showed he was allowing a lot of baserunners. He only last 5 innings however and already speculation that they pulled him because of his target painted shoulder. Youk's comebacker in the 1st probably set that in motion Snall- Still got this guy pegged as a 1 year wonder Pavano- If lucky, could see him by late August/September
  18. per rotoworld Coco Crisp (finger) took swings from both sides of the plate on Tuesday. He might begin a rehab assignment on Thursday. Crisp has decided against playing in extended spring training in Florida. Instead, it looks like he'll report to Double- or Triple-A later this week. He could return to Boston's lineup on Monday. Friday, Wells in and DiNardo sent down to Pawtucket to just be built up as fodder trade usage That would be heaven, Coco in and Dustan Mohr DFA'd by next week. Kapler is set to return next month, Goodbye Harris!!!
  19. mmhmm Nixon was the killer. He had 2 hits and drew a walk, scoring one of the 5 runs. IMO this year with RISP/2outs he's batting .294. So he isnt always choking
  20. Thanks Tito, Wake in too late was the killer. Mohr will be sent down when Coco comes back, if not sooner
  21. there will still be criticism towards him if they actually end up winning the game
  22. Mirabelli easily strikes out on 3 pitches, while Varitek plays catch in the bullpen
  23. took him out too late 4 pitch walk to Jeter, ah he can make it against Sheffield 4 pitch walk to Sheffield, ah he can make it against Arod
  24. even though he's had 4 hits in his last 5 ABs, Snow cant get the job and ends the first threat the Sox have had going with Youk (.350 with RISP) on deck
  25. Mirabelli did a Josh bard impersonation this inning allowing Arod to score on the passed ball, next pitch was the last out of the inning. 3 total committed in the 6th by him, 1 of which allowed Arod to get on base
