  1. Its just his first inning woes. He has allowed 12 runs in the 1st inning so far this season. 5 of the 12 HRs given up by him have come in the 1st inning as well.
  2. Heres a silver lining for you. Sox wont face the Jays again until August 31
  3. http://soxprospects.com/players/images/pauley.david.jpg Age: 22 Born: June 17, 1983 Hometown: Longmont, CO Height: 6-2 Weight: 170 Bats: Right Throws: Right Drafted: 8th round, 2001 by San Diego How Acquired: Acquired from San Diego with Jay Payton, Ramon Vazquez, and cash for Dave Roberts High School: Longmont HS Oddly didnt see a thread on the young right-hander who will be making his major league debut tomorrow night vs the Blue Jays. This will be his first career game above Double A. Pauley came over here in the Dave Roberts trade. Jay Payton & Ramon Vazquez also were included in the deal. As we know: Payton was a crybaby and traded to Oakland for Chad Bradford. Vazquez was dead weight for the team and the Sox did a straight up swap with Cleveland for Alex Cora. 2006--- 2-3 record (10 starts), 2.39 ERA In 60.1 innings he has given up 54 hits (6 Hrs) while striking out 47 & walking 17 2005--- 9-7 record (27 starts), 3.81 ERA In 156 innings he gave up 169 Hits (18 Hrs) while striking out 104 & walking just 34 batters
  4. yea sure thing. Here's a link to Beckett's matchup list http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6403/batvspit;_ylt=Auw8uOkAx1W_a6YKe5CHrRuFCLcF?year=career&type=Pitching I frequent yahoo! sports for my info that i then relay onto here. Every position player/pitcher has a profile of their own. In the profiles you will see a link that says batter vs pitcher. Then you click since 1987, that should give you their history of facing opposing pitchers/batters -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After playing in all of the 49 games this season, Loretta is sitting this one out. This is due to his foot being hit by a pitch in last nights game. Also today is Manny's 34th Bday http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2006/05/pauley_gets_cal.html Red Sox 1. Coco Crisp, CF 2. Kevin Youkilis, 1B 3. David Ortiz, DH 4. 5. wow good to hear, like others I also like David Pauley starting over Abe Alvarez or Matt Ginter. Looking forward to his major league debut tomorrow night
  6. I was kinda expecting this, at least he didnt sign to be back in pinstripes
  7. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/05/30/injury_stops_wells_before_he_can_start_again/ This is also being talked about on WEEI http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6751 The Red Sox have been scouting Twins' Kyle Lohse, who was recently demoted to Triple A. Apparently a deal could be done between the two teams. Im not so sure as Lohse has actually been having a worse season than Clement has with an 8.92 ERA in his first 8 starts of the season. His career stats also show inconsistencies, Im scratching my head on this one
  8. Boston Herald is reporting that Abe Alvarez is expected to get the start tomorrow night, Toronto is the best team hitting against lefties this season. And the Sox get to face Sox killer lefty Ted Lilly. Heres hoping something gets done :dunno: http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=141383 This will be Alvarez's first career appearance vs Toronto
  9. In the offseason, the Mariners had offered Gil Meche to the Sox. This May, he has a 4.09 ERA. Season ERA is 4.40, a step up from 2006 Clement Seattle Matt Clement, chunk of his salary, Dustin Pedroia or David Murphy Boston Gil Meche
  10. umm Clements next start is against the Tigers @ Comerica Park
  11. Whats better? Keeping Clement or... eating a chunk of his salary just to get rid of him Bottomline, its not my money thats being shelled out so the Sox can go ahead and do such a deal. Even if they release him, theyre going to have to pay him money anyway. Might as well get something for him
  12. Ive never been impressed with chacin's starts against Boston. Besides our co-ace Beckett is on the mound for us
  13. Eh I think most of the blame has to go to Clement. he cant be overlooked just because the Sox were able to come back from a 6-0 deficit that he put them there by the 4th inning
  14. what does anyone expect? Riske is rusty, not pitching at all in a week (that was when he came back from the DL)
  15. Mr. Double, go-ahaed run... come on coco!! Other news, Clement has left the ballpark to buy some presents for his teammates for saving his ass
  16. Thats our Captain Clutch!!!!!!!!!
  17. So... you guys claim that WEEI & Dirt Dogs speak for all Sox fans
  18. yep doesnt have any ties with Boston Nipper, Schilling (Rog mentored him), Bill Hasselman, Wakefield. He also gets to see his old Sox teammates: Jerry Remy, Jim Rice, Dennis Eckersley. Luis Tiant and Dwight Evans also make frequent visits Let alone the biggest tie is that Boston is kind of where he pitched for the first 13 years of his HOF career
  19. Oh please dont have NESN, ESPN etc. basing his bad start to the season because of his bad ankle. Because he's pitched as bad before the Yankees game Just like the excuse for him getting lined off the head last year, even though he already had 3 rough outings before Tampa Bay.
  20. That ball was sent out of a cannon. Manny is now at 211 HRs in a Red Sox uniform, 8th best in franchise history. 5 more will put him at 450 career HRs
  21. Theres also the sentiment side that his career will come full circle. Also his pitching coach would be Al Nipper, his best friend coming up through the Red Sox system. Still good friends today
  22. Well theres a bright light, Coco!!!!!
  23. Clement updated stats 54.2 innings, 6.91 ERA-- 38 Ks, 30 Walks
  24. possible another run charged to clement, added torment on him
