  1. Red Sox kicked in the ass again by Mother Nature, on Mother's Day no less We will play tomorrow, I guess... http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20060514&content_id=1453382&vkey=pr_bos&fext=.jsp&c_id=bos It could make the next Rangers/Sox series into a 5 game set or they could end up finding a free day for both teams, as we saw Bo Sox & Chi Sox do last September
  2. He just came off of a very good start against the good Yankees lineup-- 7 innings, 3 Runs, 7 Ks, 0 Walks A start like that will fuel him to have a nice streak for himself.
  3. There's still Aaron Small he can end up putting into a close game. He's been hit upon each outing and has now allowed 9 Runs in 5 innings
  4. Yeah its drizzling right now... try f***ing pouring outside. Gametime by 7 is going to be worse than it is now, Ive heard about reports up to 6 inches we could get here. Unplayable conditions needless to say, we've already seen Clement probably do something to himself as he slipped couple of times on the clumped up mound last night.
  5. Let alone that this didnt merit using up another thread, the May 13th game thread is still open for him to rant on the littlest things
  6. Basically a matchup of rookies. Koronka has been a surprising fine addition to the Rangers starting staff after coming in a late spring training 3-team trade. DiNardo is coming off of a decent start against Baltimore despite walking 5 batters. The winner tonight will be mother nature. Just for kicks I'll post the matchups ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7. Torri Hunter, a $12 million option on him for 2007. But the Twins are all but certain to cut ties with him. Shannon Stewart as well. As "Beckett" said there's Jose Guillen. Oakland has former Sox, Jay Payton who wants more playing time than he's been given. Pittsburgh has Craig Wilson who they tried to trade numerous times in the offseason. Just names on top of my head...
  8. Nomar & Matsui both have had wrist injuries... as I said numerous players including Nomar arent themselves after a wrist injury. I dont get how you burst my bubble on that one, whatever
  9. Pending Sheffield's option being picked up. Who knows the traded OF could give way to his option being declined. One high on the list I bet is Torri Hunter, best defensive center fielder in the game and has done well against us in his career. Damon earlier in the NY Post I believe, was petitioning for the Yankees to grab Hunter for next year. Which is in itself a shot at Sheff. Damon proclaimed he would move to right if Torri donned pinstripes. Though Im not sure you guys want Damon's arm in right field. Oh the adventures he would have playing at Fenway
  10. He's just passing by the limited pitch count as an "excuse". Even though the Sox talked about it openly during spring training on what their plan is for Lester. Dont bother talking about his past several good starts because they still factor into his bad start to the season
  11. Many reports have the Yankees are hoping for him to be out for at least 3 months. Which of course means "out for the season" is not out of the question. Besides as we've seen from numerous players including Nomar, they arent themselves right after they come back from a wrist injury.
  12. If only Cincy wouldve taken Clement over Arroyo, but his high contract sold the deal that he would stay in Boston. I still dont see him lasting his 3 year contract here, shocked if he isnt traded before 07 season
  13. I find it hard to believe that the Yanks will trot out a rotation of Bernie, Bubba & Melky in left/right field for the remainder of the season. One way or another a trade for an outfielder will come, taking more prospects from NY in the process. Unless they are able to give away Jaret Wright
  14. Things arent looking good as now its being reported on WEEI that Chacin will have MRI after being complaining about his pitching elbow.
  15. Disgusting loss, even if its not called I just dont see them coming back from a 6-0 deficit. Loe will actually get a complete game shutout from this
  16. Thanks guys, and of course many thanks to one of the great posters here SFOC. I just got home from work, 10 hour day blah and the PM was a sight for sore eyes I enjoy these contests and keep up the good work you have done here
  17. Clement has had some success against Texas, that might help fuel a good start by him after he obvsiously seemed P.O'd about being the one pushed back. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18. Dennis Eckersley did bring up a good point, Matsui's in for a long rehab which quite possibly might set up a trade for an outfielder. They mentioned several times our old buddy Jay Payton, who didnt actually leave Boston on good terms. Another option for them would try to acquire Carlos Lee. Though I bet that he would cost them Hughes.
  19. A shot to their octane offense is having to do without Sheffield, and a longer absence now from Matsui. Their pitching needs to better even more now.
  20. Offensive star of the game Mark Loretta, as I said lay off of the guy if he is in a slump. A 300 hitter is a 300 hitter. In just over a week, he has raised his avg from 207 to 280 Tonight 4 for 6, Double, 3 RBIs -------- Best defense: Yooooouk, couple of plays had saved Yankee runs -------- Best pitching: I'm gonna have to go with the Yankee Crusader himself, Wake who got the win he rightfully deserved 6 innings, 6 Hits, 3 Runs, 3 Walks, 9 Ks
  21. this home plate umpire is also the one from the Sox/Yanks game last season when the Sheffield/fan fight happened. He was very inconsistent in the strike zone resulting in Tito & Papa Jack being ejected for arguing balls and strikes.
  22. Villone Wily Mo Pena -- Doug Mirabelli, 1 for 1 (1.000 avg) HR, RBI Alex Gonzalez, 2 for 7 (.286 avg) K Farnsworth Wily Mo Pena, 1 for 1 (1.000 avg) HR, RBI Doug Mirabelli, 2 for 5 (.400 avg) K Alex Gonzalez, 7 for 13 (.538 avg) 3 Doubles, 2 Ks Yeah Id wager that Villone is out there, matching up these stats
  23. inept offense tonight- 13 men left on base, 3 times loaded
  24. repeat after me: We are the Champions 10 left on base in 5 innings
