  1. Dust yourself off Matt, and just try to pitch http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9gnMiJP5YJEigYBxC6jzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTA4NDgyNWN0BHNlYwNwcm9m/SIG
  2. For the 06 offseason, pitchers Id like to see the Sox try & go for: Mark Mulder, Jason Schmidt, 1 or 2 season contract to Tom Glavine (has spoken interest in Boston, age is a factor), incentive laden contract to Kerry Wood if he's not taken during the trading deadline, and Blue Jays reliever Justin Speier
  3. Sox always seem to have their fits with facing a pitcher for the 1st time: Like last year with Ervin Santana, Brandon McCarthy, Joe Blanton, Kyle Davies And yes, Im not sure I even want to watch the game with DoorMatt Clement starting. He's painful to watch at times. Anyone else starting to get annoyed that now NESN, ESPN are starting to attribute his bad start to the season because of the Bernie Williams' comebacker?? I mean what the hell. Coming into the Yankees game, he already had a 6+ ERA. Its all been his lack of mental confidence this year. I heard last night on NESN that the Sox almost traded Derek Lowe for Clement in 2004 season. >
  4. yep Ortiz is falling back to earth... The avg is the only thing he needs to kick into gear while he does have 15 HRs, 48 RBIs
  5. well Tavarez easily gave that one up, 6-2 :thumbdown high sinker to the clean up hitter, nice going Sox placing the "burden" on Clement to save the series. I dont like our chances, even with the Detroit rookie on the mound
  6. Todd Jones is warming up, cmon guys this is somebody you really can beat up on Manny Ramirez, 3 for 10 (.300 avg) HR, RBI, Walk, 3 Ks Mike Lowell, 5 for 8 (.625 avg) HR, 2 RBIs, K Kevin Youkilis, 1 for 1 (1.000 avg) HR, 2 RBIs PH- Jason Varitek, 3 for 8 (.375 avg) Double, 2 RBIs, 2 Ks
  7. helped by another badly called strike 3 on Ortiz by the detroit homer of an umpire, 2 towards Manny last night... Bonderman had a quick 8 pitch 6th inning He has thrown just 35 pitches over the last 4 innings, oh yay
  8. 3rd straight inning of Sox leaving bats on their shoulders, 9 pitch 5th inning for Bonderman. 27 pitches the last 3 innings, he had to throw 29 in the 1st Wake's "Why me?" offensive support continues
  9. cmon Sox hitters, get it going Bonderman first 2 innings- 45 pitches (2 hits, 2 Walks, 1 Run) last 2 innings- 18 pitches (4 Ks)
  10. 2004 rather. It was helped by Sox doing longball of their own, including 2 by Youkilis
  11. Sidetrack: Youkilis 2 months into the season has already set new career highs, going past 2004 stats when he had subbed in for Mueller
  12. Alright Well of course thats a given... Im sure if they are this high on him, he cant be that bad
  13. The Sox are going to go back to drafting high school players. Example given by Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald A native boy too. A southpaw that young who is already hitting the 90s with his fastball has to be good
  14. The Sox bullpen has become the hottest in baseball, allowing just 2 earned runs in the past 18.2 innings
  15. Of course props toward Mike lowell getting that 2 out hit to set up for Youk
  16. Yoooouk What a turn of events and has saved Schil from what wouldve been an undeserving loss
  17. please guys, stop thinking that Dirt Dogs & WEEI is how all of us think. IMO 3 of the games will be Beckett, Schilling & Wakefield. That I feel confident going into the series
  18. well of course those stats are going to be big like that from just 1 game he has pitched in. Cmon now, its not the best argument to throw out those stats based on 4.1 innings pitched. As Ive tried to ask other posters, who would you have put instead to fill in wells' slot againt the blue jays?
  19. ........6/05.............. W...... + .........4.... + .........16 ...........21 ........6/06.............. L...... + .........2 .... + .........8...........11 ........6/07.............. 20. Arroyo's stats against NY arent all that glamorous "Mrs Van Buren"? Youre seriously taking shots at him. the same reliever who has been effective for us, and helped save yesterday's game from getting out of hand. hes going to be a quality guy out of the bullpen for us. Quote me on this, youre sig if you like. Wily Mo Pena will not be traded by July 31. Its foolish to think so.
