  1. got Beckett into a jam, that fortunately he was able to get out of Youk got off to a great defensive start, but has now made 4 errors in the past 10 games. That doesnt included his back to back bad plays in the 5th inning of last night's game
  2. Clement tried to instigate that the unfair schedule balancing in May had messed with his routine. Yea Clement it worked so good for you in April with every 5th day, no wait you had a 6.14 ERA in April.
  3. Gabe Kapler is set to come back by late this month. New reports on Wily Mo Pena have him coming back around the all-star break. Cant wait to have this outfield Manny Coco Trot Gabe Wily Mo Good to hear that David Murphy is doing very well this season, he could be valuable to the Sox as trade bait.
  4. Even before this, I think it was being made known that Lester isnt just making a spot start. It could be up for good with Wells on the DL till who knows when. If this is so, rather I think this gives Pauley some more opportunities to make a name for himself and be a decent #5 starter.
  5. Scattered reports from eei & Espn radio are saying that Clement's arm cramping issues had forced the Red Sox to reshuffle the rotation with Pauley taking Clements spot in the doubleheader for today. He hasnt pitched since last Sunday against Detroit, a game in which he left while facing a batter on a 2-1 count. All reports were that it was a non baseball related injury, but speculation grows that Clement could be placed on the 15 day disabled list. Added onto that, Schilling & Wakefield are both expected to start the first 2 games of the Twins series.
  6. Well Lowell doesnt just hit for high average. He's also been playing more gold glove D. It will probably come down between him & Chavez by season's end in that category. Tied for the league in extra base hits. Hell he's having a season that will put him in contention for AL comeback player, my guess though that it will go to Jim Thome. Projected for 2006-- .320 avg, 20 HRs, 90+ RBIs
  7. Wagner went 1 for 5 last night with a solo HR updated stats (I'll update the stats each sunday) .308 avg, .360 obp, 13 Doubles, Triple, 6 HRs, 30 RBIs On defense has made just 1 error
  8. Didnt help matters much with the home plate ump that welcomed him to the majors. Calls on both dugouts were so badly inconsistent. Like J.T. Snow's AB for example, the same exact location on 3 straight pitches: strike, ball, strike. The 36-pitch 2nd inning is what did it in for Lester, I could feel Fenway Park's agressions as not one of his borederline strike calls being called as such. He still showed me promise and some sick poise as he kept runners on base in clutch situations, like K's Teixeira with the bases loaded to end the inning. The defense and hopefully strike zone will be going his way the next time out, which is looking like against the Braves at Turner Field.
  9. His back was facing Kinsler at the time, sure its just frustrating to see but he has been a very steady defender this season for us. He's no rent-a-wreck
  10. cmon easy there now. Did you even notice that as the ball was going into his glove, Ian kinsler's feet slid into Loretta. Thus shifting Loretta's balance to hold on to the ball.
  11. 610 official start time on NESN got the butterflies going on, seeing Lester warm up in the outfield of Fenway Park
  12. Captain Clutch, that isnt a pitch you take on 2 strikes
  13. Ken Macha, how long of a chain do you have with this Halsey kid? He shouldnt even have started this inning
  14. September 11? The Sox are playing the Orioles at Camden Yards on that day
  15. Whoa, cool to hear. On Weei, they were talking about the projection for Trot's 2006 season. If healthy 148 games, .318 avg, 17 HRs, 92 RBIs His highest total of HRs since he hit 28 in '03, and highest total of RBIs since he knocked in 94 in '02.
  16. wow props to Halsey, he was able to get out of the biggest jam an Oakland pitcher has had yet today
  17. Oakland bats are making Mussina work. He had to throw 21 pitches this past inning, and is up to 80 overall
  18. haha Joe Buck to Tim McCarver "What the hell are you talking about?"
  19. By all accounts Ive heard & read, Gabe will be back in a Red Sox uni late this month/early July
  20. We are really starting to see the farmhands make their names known at the Fens Rookies appearing with Red Sox 2005- Cla Meredith, Kelly Shoppach, Adam Stern, Abe Alvarez, Manny Delcarmen, Jonathan Papelbon, Alejandro Machado, Lenny DiNardo 2006- Jonathan Papelbon, Adam Stern, Manny Delcarmen, Lenny DiNardo, Abe Alvarez, Jermaine Van Buren, Craig Hansen, David Pauley & Jon Lester From what I can gather, others poised for this year- Dustin Pedroia, Edgar Martinez, Craig Breslow, David Murphy
  21. His fastball is clocking 95-98, hes just placing it right over the plate. Its all about a game of inches Besides RJ is being paid the big bucks to be the ace. Beckett came into this season as the #2 guy, behind the bonafide Curt Schilling whos pegged to possibly become a 20 game winner again.
