  1. Maybe this could be our "catching lightning in a bottle" Snyder's over the top curveball is a pitch i love seeing. He just has to keep his fastball down, and he'll be decent. Decent even moreso than Clement has been this year
  2. As Remy pointed out, the on deck batter has to stand behind home plate to give the runner the signal to slide Manny was the on deck batter and was standing in the on deck circle
  3. Remy took words out of my mouth. Snyder looks like he could be a brother to Arroyo
  4. Pedroia has been playing both 2nd and shortstop in Pawtucket. Loretta's contract ends this offseason, making him expendable if Pedroia continues to improve. Ive been a long supporter of Loretta. Baseball is all a business, have to make the tough decisions
  5. I'll be frank. At first I wasnt happy with the Gonzalez signing. All I focused on was the "bat". Probably a lot because I never had seen any games of his. All things have changed I dont care if he hits .250 or lower. His defense has got me to kiss the ground that he fields on. He should be a bonafide sure bet to win the 2006 gold glove. I'll call ******** if someone like Jeter gets picked over him. 1 error this season, making him the best of baseball tied with Omar Vizquel. He's already set a Red Sox record, 48 consecutive games without an error for a shortstop. Got him on my wish list to resign this next offseason
  6. All in all, he'll be gone by the time Wily Mo comes back. We cant have a 6th OF taking up a spot that could be used for an extra reliever
  7. this season, Ortiz is the best hitter they have and he has gradually become that since last season Since last season Papi- 68 HRs, 208 RBIs Manny- 62 HRs, 197 RBIs
  8. True but is Damon coming off of a 42 day DL stint from injuring his wrist, a major component for major league hitters?
  9. Crisp since the Santana outing (stretch of 6 games) 3 for 24 (.125 avg) HR, RBI, 2 Runs, 2 Walks, 3 Ks His avg has dropped almost 50 points from .302 to .255. Heres hoping he can get back on track
  10. Gammons mentioned the "trade winds" for Boston this season. Hell No There has been some said interest in acquiring Jeff Weaver, but the Angels would have to eat a portion of his contract Worth a shot John Thomson of the Braves, con is that he has a question mark surrounding his health
  11. Curt!! IMO the Sox starting pitchers have been the best hitting of the AL pitchers in interleague games. Kudos as well to him making Smoltz through 6 pitches in his AB
  12. thats the best way to end a long streak
  13. be sure to buy gonzo a drink, Curt 3 straight hits after getting the 2nd out, get that command back please
  14. get this man a gold glove, enough said...
  15. I second that. Willie is the most obvious choice to be sent back down to Pawtucket or DFA'd. With Gabe Kapler back, his role in Boston is basically just hovering over obsolete. Kapler is a much better hitter, and defender with the glove and his arm throwing power. Harris might have an uptick of speed, but eh Id rather have Gabe coming out to be the pinch runner for now on.
  16. Keep that up Ryan, solid stats to see after coming off of the DL
  17. I heard on WEEI yesterday that the Sox are also keeping an eye on another young starting pitcher from the Royals. He's having a more respectable start to his career, I wouldnt mind the Sox sending couple lower level tier prospects to try this kid out. Better outlook anyways than Kyle Snyder http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7775
  18. that would be correct, still at 1 error
  19. considering he's coming off of a wrist injury after 42 games off... Im giving him the benefit of the doubt that he'll pick things back up. As for him being gone by 2008, that is premature to say so. Theo wouldnt just sign him to an extension through 2010 with an option for 2011 if he thought Coco would be out of here once Ellisbury comes up. Our future outfield will probably look like Crisp, Ellisbury, Wily Mo0
  20. updated Wagner stats .317 avg, .388 OBP, 15 Doubles, Triple, 6 HRs, 30 RBIs, 25 Runs, 20 Walks
  21. another d-rays prospect, another bout of breaking the rules:rolleyes: http://www.sptimes.com/2006/06/18/Rays/Dukes_suspended_after.shtml
  22. haha Youk of the Nation has something to say to the guy who wrote the yahoo sports recap of todays game
  23. Paps rings up Giles to end the game for his major league leading 22nd save of the season Now, heres hoping for Curt to lead his Sox against Smoltz & the Braves for a sweep. RedSoxRooter make it so tomorrow
