  1. Washington likes to get former Yankees, whether it be by trade or FA's Good signing by the Nats, overall a productive offseason. They will be closer to .500 than they will to 100 losses
  2. Its not like they will have moved from 4th best offense to Kansas City Royal/San Diego Padre type offense. I love Jason Bay, but his loss is not as big as St Louis losing Pujols. Jacoby looks to improve on his obp while hitting close to .300, maybe setting his sights on more SBs, and add some more pop as he nears his prime. Pedroia should give the same .300 avg, 15-20 HR, 75+RBI, 15-20 SB season. V-Mart will hit around .300, 20+ HRs, 100+ RBIs. This will be the year that Youk reaches 30 HRs (his injury time in April was only reason he didnt have a 30/100 season) Ortiz should have a more consistent year. However if he has the same two month slump, Sox wont be so nice again to keep giving him ABs. Give them a lil push to call up San Diego perhaps, or work out a trade for a power guy whose in his contract year. Yes Beltre and Cameron will both hit at least .240, but theyre both good to put up 20-25 HR, 75+ RBI type seasons while putting up highlight reel plays. Drew will have his typical .265 avg/20 +/- HRs, 65+ RBIs season. Hard to gauge Scutaro, because he didnt get playing time until he neared his mid 30s. I would gather something like .275, 10 HRs, 50+RBIs, 10 SBs The bench is also a considerable offensive upgrade. Going from Kottaras, Kotsay, Lowrie, and train wreck that is Baldelli to... Varitek, Hall (not that long ago he had 30 HRs, so hello green monster), Hermida, and Im still hoping they add Jonny Gomes
  3. Drew is the best hitter? He'll probably put up a .270/20 HR/70 RBI season I do think that V-Mart and Youk will be a very nice 3-4. Martinez has a solid history of hitting .300 or great and can easily put up 20-25 HRs and over 100 RBIs. This could be the year that Youkilis reaches the 30 HR plateau. Plus while Im a big advocate of Drew's, its almost a given that Youk and Mart will have healthier seasons
  4. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view.bg?&articleid=1232370&format=&page=1&listingType=sox#articleFull In the herald, they had the lineup as 1. Ellsbury lf 2. Pedroia 2b 3. Martinez c 4. Youkilis 1b 5. Ortiz dh 6. Drew rf 7. Cameron cf 8. Beltre 3b 9. Scutaro ss

  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4910475 Felipe Lopez fired Scott Boras, he was disgruntled about not having a team just days away from ST
  7. Braves have increased interest in Damon. Chipper Jones has contacted him
  8. Yeah I see Josh Reddick as a potentially good, not great, player... but to go to him as your everyday DH is a head scratcher. If someone in the outfield is down for like 2-4 weeks, sure call him up
  9. As I said before, if Papi has another 1st half struggle, Adrian Gonzalez trade talks could heat up
  10. Not with the Sox, but according to Tim Brown, Bobby Kielty is converting to a pitcher haha
  11. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nfl/news/story?id=4891340&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines Pats wont go with a defensive coordinator, Belichick will take expanded role just like he did with the offense this season. Probably will be only team to no have real coordinators of the offense and defense
  12. Actually I always questioned when Jeter won gold gloves, especially when he won it over Gonzo in 2006
  13. Plenty of times since he first debuted back in 2001. Offensivley aside, hes really not that bad of a fielder. Cmon one of the 5 worst? The 2009 stats saw him being in the same class as Anderson Hernandez.
  14. I agree with that. I was watching hot stove, it was showing UZR stats. It said that Brian Roberts under that stat was ranked as one of the 5 worst second baseman in baseball. Which is bull IMO
  15. As much as he is against it, Wakefield will be in the bullpen as the long reliever/spot starter (barring an injury/trade). The front office would be hit so hard with criticism if Clay started the year in Pawtucket Tim Wakefield Dustin Richardson or Boof Bonser Manny Delcarmen Ramon Ramirez Daniel Bard Hideki Okajima Jonathan Papelbon
  16. What Im really nervous about is that... its just about a foregone conclusion that Mauer will indeed offically sign a big extension with Minnesota. That makles V-Mart the top catcher next offseason. It could be Jason Bay all over again. The Sox could find themselves without a clue about who to go to for starting catching duties
  17. I like his control. In the past 3 years he's had seasons of 52, 40, 47 walks
  18. Id be more worried about the tail end of his contract, rather than year 1
  19. http://jimstreet.mlblogs.com/archives/2010/02/bedard_on_verge_of_returning_t.html Mariners are close to re-signing Erik Bedard
  20. It would be made easier on how to make room for Gonzalez during this season.
  21. Edelman is being under rated. I wouldnt be surprised if he put up a season with at least 50 catches, 750 yards
