  1. Joe Morgan quotes and the game hasnt even started yet. Joe was asked about the pitching matchups. After Morgan did his take on Matsuzaka, he was asked about Chase Wright... but he continued talking about Matsuzaka and how he had wanted to go to the Yankees
  2. Fair enough indeed. I learned the same when I was a new poster almost 2 years ago now, didnt realize you havent read the beginning of any game threads. The best mojo thats gone on has been RedSoxRooter mojo! He started all threads during the Sox's 12 game winning streak against the NL last June
  3. Scouting report on Wright: http://www.replacementlevel.com/index.php/RLYW/direct/myb_who_is_chase_wright
  4. You made your thread at 1041 am on a Sunday, most people are out of the house or sleeping in... factor that with the game time isnt until 8pm tonight. Its about respect, if a poster makes a game thread and the team wins then he or she is the one who will make it the next game. No one said it had to be made 8 hours prior to gametime
  5. http://www.miamiherald.com/588/story/82575.html If Im able to I def want to see some Marlins games now! The Marlins are starting to lack on bench players so much... that they have notified Dontrelle that he may be needed to grab a glove and head out to the field, not the mound. Intriguing to hear, but do they want to risk the health like that of their ace?
  6. Read my post clearly: I said until Lester finds himself, huh that isnt me wanting them to rush him back up ether, is it? Sorry my mind is slipping here... but to you Tavarez is a decent starter while Hansack is crapshoot hopes & prayers?
  7. Havent updated this in awhile. Even tho Kottaras is slated as the possible next catcher for the Sox, I'll still do updates on Wagner who is catching for the Single A Lancaster Jethawks 10 games- .357 avg, .404 obp, 2 Doubles, HR, 7 RBIs, 10 Runs, 3 Walks, 7 Ks
  8. Spann hasnt been doing so hot to start off the year in Pawtucket 14 games .213 avg, .275 obp, 3 Doubles, 2 RBIs, 3 Runs, 4 Walks, 17 Ks
  9. Little Paps hit a rough spot on his last outing. In 2.1 innings he gave up 3 runs off of 6 Hits while striking out 3 updated stats 3.80 ERA 7.1 innings, 11 Hits, 3 Runs, 1 Walk, 5 Ks
  10. Im not really biting my fingernails when I see Donnelly warming up
  11. Me as well, my only concern entering this season was the bullpen behind Papelbon. They have proven their steady worth entering the season. Hell Okajima mania is starting to begin, Donnelly has been reliable thus far, and the more the merrier if Timlin comes back anywhere close to his 03-05 self. If needed at all the Sox have good depth in the minors for relief help. I knew the rotation would be solid as they come and produce innings. The offense can be one of the best, now if they can do on the road what theyve done at home... watch out http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/article_perspectives.jsp?ymd=20070421&content_id=1922298&vkey=perspectives&fext=.jsp Article here from mlb.com (Yankee writer) Tom Singer, didnt realize this could be the first sweep of the Yankees at Fenway since 1990. While he does make a lot of good points... One quote from has me scratching my head... Ok he said Matsuzaka has to starting pulling his weight soon... um what? Sure Tom he's 1-2, but also compile that with a 2.70 ERA, 24 Ks in 20 innings (2 starts had 10 apiece). Its called bad run support, not him not pulling his weight. For shame Dice that you havent shut out your last 2 opponents
  12. That is true and its also his career high 4th consecutive win. Couple other minor notes is that Ortiz's HR today was his 179th as a Red Sox moving him past Nomar to 10th all-time in franchise history. Manny is 9 hits away from his 1000th as a Red Sox
  13. Didnt realize right away but Beckett is the first 4 game winner
  14. The Sox Win, 4 game win streak!! :papelbon: The bullpen held their own again, Beckett turned in a respectable outing and is now 4-0 to start the season (he'll get the O's next), and the bats at Fenway Park continue to be f***ing lethal (53 runs in first 7 games). Coco/Tek starting to do a very good 180 Tomorrow Daisuke looks to complete the sweep, Kilo keep up this mojo
  15. Bad approach by Youk, facing a wild Proctor, he goes swinging at every pitch
  16. Robinson Cano is leading off the inning, and he is 3 for 5 against Timlin. There are Yankee lefties coming up, why not keep Okaji in the game?
  17. Timlin for the 8th.... even if its the bottom of the order, I have butterflies. Tito you almost had me going, thought you were brought to your senses that Okajima & Donnelly are key before Paps
  18. Since that homerun on his first major league pitch he has gone 8 innings, allowing 1 hit, walking 2, striking out 10
  19. I am happy, think Tito has seen the light... his best 2 relievers not named Papelbon, Donnelly & Okajima are warming up in the pen. Unless anything changes they could be the main setup men for Paps this season
  20. And Tavarez's next 2 starts are vs Toronto at Fenway, then vs the Yankees at Yankee Stadium... i'll be at a loss for words if he holds his own
