  1. Yankees had a very sound draft, impressed where both of our teams are in terms of farm 4 years from now
  2. Arroyo is also being figured out by the NL his 2nd year around 2006 (14-11, 3.29 ERA) oppsoing .243 avg 3 CGs, 1 SO, 240.2 innings, 222 Hits, 98 Runs (88 ER), 31 HRs, 64 Walks, 184 Ks 2007 (2-7, 5.01 ERA) opposing .282 avg 1 CG, 79 innings, 87 Hits, 50 Runs (44 ER), 6 HRs, 29 Walks, 52 Ks
  3. Sox make the right decision here. Javier Lopez has made a name for himself this season as a clucth lefty specialist. Romero was giving up too much hits (especially facing lefties) and also had a high walk rate. The bullpen has only gotten stronger with the addition of Timlin and subtraction of JC
  4. I believe thats you predicting how his season will end Again, like its been said before, he has had one good month/one awful month
  5. Great win, yesterdyas game pumped some new life into the Sox Plain & simple it was the JD Drew Show (3 Hits, 2 HRs, 7 RBIs, great D!) while helping Beckett improve to... 9-0, 2.88 ERA, 67 Ks, 16 Walks
  6. Damn 7 RBIs for Drew EDIT: Is this the most a Sox has had in 1 game this season?
  7. Pedroia had infield hit, then Manny got hit. Scary moment at first as he laid down face first, Hopefully this is the momentum shifter game for JD Drew, maybe all he needed was some familiarity. A.L. watch out if it is!
  8. Great heads up baserunning play by the rookie
  9. Shea Stadium, the new Reds ballpark, Giants home park (they keep changing the name of it), RFK Stadium, PNC Park
  10. Drew, Lugo, the two most criticized Sox batters (besides Crisp) have spoken with their bats tonight
  11. Drew!!! That ball was f***ing crushed
  12. Beckett still looked good in his AB. He made the pitcher work for that last out. 5 pitches to Beckett until he grounded out, 40 through the first 2 innings
  13. Cant read too much into Beckett's ERA against Arizona and at Chase Field. The only batter he fas faced is the pitcher Doug Davis
  14. Wow just realized this was the first CG shutout for a Sox pitcher since Pedro in 2004
  15. Abreu is having a great June, 13 for his last 29 now (.448 avg)
  16. Mustve been thinking about different scouting report on someone else. But his fastball sits in the low 90s, topping out at 94/95. Agreed his swing is one to take awe in. But hey maybe someday in the majors and his team is in a blowout (or extra innings), at least they know who to turn to if no one is left to pitch
  17. Im really not worried about Ortiz having to face lefties in this series. Yes those are helpful stats, but Id still want his bat in the lineup to face them.
  18. I am happy about this draft, pending on who they are able to sign. Theyve got themselves a group of mostly project players. If done right, well then hooray for the Sox! Middlebrooks was a great pickup, I mean you have a guy that could be a great hitter or a pitcher with potential and can throw in the mid to high 90s!
  19. Lineups updated. Youkilis gets the day off. Tito's probably going to use his M.O. from last year, sitting Youkilis, Ortiz, Lowell each a game. I imagine Lowell will sit tomorrow, Ortiz will then sit ve RJ
