  1. Damn if you want to watch a team that gets down and dirty, its this years Cubs. roto
  2. Why am I blacked out from watching this game? I thought that was for only home sox games
  3. Cain this season on the road in 7 games, 1-4 with a 2.46 ERA
  4. The details on this rumor are still sketchy, most likely an update will be made during the game on Fox. From what Im hearing from Ken Rosenthal (naturally more players will be a part of this) Texas: Michael Bowden? Boston: Mark Teixeira, Scott Baker Minnesota: Mike Lowell
  5. soxprospects.com is projecting that Aaron Bates will be the starting 1st baseman for the 08 Paw Sox. At his pace I wouldnt doubt that, but still a long ways away and of course his home park is quite the hitter's park. Optimistic to see where he can take things
  6. Pirates are benching Wilson as we speak, and he's making $7 million. And Im sure there has been other times with players getting paid in neighborhood of $5 million and still getting benched in favor of another player. Im sorry I just dont see the Sox sitting idle while Crisp stays in his season long slump, fans become more relentless at him like Bellhorn in 05, that theyll keep him as the everyday center fielder until they trade him or he gets injured
  7. As Coco comes closer and closer to the mendoza line... Sox should start him out there every day, just because he's making $5 million?
  8. I concur with that, Ellsbury as well
  9. Ive heard some guys from work couple of days ago "see I told ya, the Sox would start to crumble and the Yankees will start winning every game." I just calmly told them that its only June and way too early to get into panic mode. The Sox have one of the best rotations in baseball, strong back end of Oki/Paps, and a lineup (sans Crisp) that has the talent to make a pitcher work. Im still for Wily Mo getting playing time in center. At the same time, Coco would be valuable as a late innings pinch runner/defensive replacement Tavarez is doing such a damn good job that the Sox can ease Lester along with his progression as he comes back from cancer
  10. Yess Sox win, 42-24. Back to 18 games above .500 Lead is back to 8.5 games Tavarez continues to make a name for himself in this good rotation. 2 runs in 7 innings The offense... err I mean Drew & Pedroia got things going right away in this one. The Sox were due for a game like this after averaging 2.5 runs over the last 7 games. The top 2 of the order was 8 for 9 with 2 Doubles, HR, 8 RBIs Barry who? Good to see him not have any impact in this one. Onto tomorrow featuring a good matchup of Matsuzaka vs Cain, Im optimistic about it but I have a feeling Bonds will hit one out off of Dice
  11. Damn Drew making the dirt dog play as well!
  12. Dusty!! 4 for 4 Top of the order 7 for 7, Double, HR, 6 RBIs
  13. Up until the middle of May... I was yearning for Lester to be called up, since then Ive come around to really liking Tavarez as the 5th starter
  14. Haha um Tavarez with the... web gem?
  15. Whats this, turn around game perhaps?? I like our 1-2 of Drew/Pedroia Pedroia makes it 3 for 3 with a 3 RBI game
  16. Thank you, I agree 100%. I could see if Ortiz did it at home plate but he was all the way in front of the dugout. Even then he wasnt looking back as he dropped his helmet and bat hard onto the ground. EDIT: Bases loaded no outs with Manny/Youk/Lowell coming up.. 1 run. I am happy they got the lead, but they have been allowing too many pitchers get away with murder this month
  17. Maybe this game can slowly get Tito into the thinking "Hey maybe Wily Mo should start getting playing time in center?"
  18. I saw the replay, he didnt toss out his helmet and bat. As he was walking to the dugout, like mere 5 feet away, he slammed his helmet and bat down. It wasnt thrown in the direction of any player or umpire
  19. Zito this season on the road in 7 games, 3-3 with a 4.82 ERA Tavarez this season at home in 4 games, 2-2 with a 5.04 ERA
  20. Thanks for the heads up, any Smoltz matchup is favorable to the Braves
