  1. Coco slowed up right before he go to home plate, ugh
  2. I just dont get Tito's reasoning for resting players because couple days ahead there will be the flight to Tampa... why dont you rest these players instead tomorrow when 5.95 ERA Cliff Lee is starting
  3. Who's to say that the relief would be coming from the Boston's corps? It could very well be from their minor leagues
  4. No takers for Pineiro. Rather than waiting around for another team, he has unexpectedly accepted an assignment to the Paw Sox
  5. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2007/07/sox_scouting_ve.html Sox/Dodgers trade?
  6. 28 of the next 62 games are against the likes of Tampa Bay & Baltimore... wow
  7. Ortiz is expected to return to the lineup tonight. Beckett this season vs Cleveland in 2 games, 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA. On the road in 7 games, 6-1 with a 1.62 ERA Carmona this season at home in 10 games, 7-2 with a 3.68 ERA
  8. Yesss Sox win, 61-39. 5 game winning streak, pushing it back up to season high tying 22 games above .500 Matsuzaka stepped up big for 7 scoreless innings against this tough Guardians lineup. Okajima and Papelbon, why even try against these 2? The offense got lucky by a blooper hit but eh they faced the tough Sabathia tonight. Tomorrow night is Beckett vs Carmona, awesome matchup. Beckett goes for his baseball leading 14th win of the season while the offense try to get to this unexpected phenom
  9. Had me stressing, I got a text not long ago "a friend of a friend type rumors" that someone who works at a hospital said that Bruschi died today Thank god that isnt the case
  10. I didnt think of that, young GM Daniels has been swindled in his fair share of deals
  11. Matsuzaka this season on the road in 10 games, 5-4 with a 3.57 ERA Sabathia this season at home in 13 games, 9-2 with a 3.36 ERA
  12. Id reluctantly give up Jacoby Ellsbury in the package, even tho Ive been a big sujpporter of his since the day he was drafted. Like the Beckett deal, you are getting young all-star talent for young all-star talent. Texeira would give the Sox some comfort with his bat as Manny leaves after the 08 season. Its all gravy if Crisp continues playing like he did in Cleveland
  13. The biggest upgrade from Wily Mo to Kielty is the defense (capable of playing LF, CF, RF, 1B ), even then he does have more of a consistent bat than Wily Mo does. It wouldnt be a big acquisition that many are clamoring for but he would help the team Here's his career stats, 579 games-- Twins, Blue Jays, Athletics 11 errors in 575 games, .987 fielding %
  14. i just heard on weei on my way to home. Heres's today's lineup... The recent RBI machine Coco Crisp will bat 5th behind Manny, and the still work in progress Drew has been bumped down to the 8th spot. Wily Mo in left tonight 1. Lugo 2. Pedroia 3. Youkilis 4. Ramirez 5. Crisp 6. Lowell 7. Varitek 8. Drew 9. Pena
  15. update from nesn, the sox have edged the san diego padres to own the best bullpen ERA in baseball
  16. Yesss Sox win, 60-39, back to 21 games above .500 Lester returns to the majors from fighting cancer and notches a W Like last year, the 4th gave him the most trouble but he got out of yet another jam. He should have a good outing when he gets the D-Rays next at the Trop Another great outing by the bullpen, MDC capping it off with his first career save The Sox offense has held their own whil Ortiz has been sidelined. 35 runs over the last 4 games Tomorrow Doce-K vs Sabathia... now if Dice could just keep his walks down, he should be good to go
  17. Same time, the Sox have insurance down in Pawtucket in the form of Travis Hughes and Craig Breslow. This year's team is entering new territory: lights out bullpen top to bottom, and a lot more speed on the basepaths EDIT: Dusty!! Another 3 Hit game as he goes the opposite way with 2 strikes
  18. Striking out the side using 3 different pitchers to do so Okajima warming up? I know Paps threw 26 pitches yesterday but that was mainly due to him not being used much over the home stand
  19. Yes. In the pre-game show, John Farrell said his pitch limit tonight is at 110 pitches Damn this is what I was hoping wouldnt happen to Lester. His angst last season was the walks, hit batters, and high pitch counts early on EDIT: f*** yea! The same Lester of last year with ice in his veins comes back to K Sizemore
  20. According to Tito there will be a platoon at the lead off spot. Lugo vs lefties, Crisp vs righties. Hopefully the kid has a solid outing tonight, rooting hard for him Lester's 2006 stats on the road in 6 games, 3-1 with a 4.78 ERA Westbrook this season at home in 7 games, 1-3 with a 4.48 ERA
  21. There is no reason to acquire Torres. This season he bitched at the Pirates for being removed from the closer's role even though he had a 6.00 ERA... while in Boston he would be doing crap innings Tho keep in mind this is the same team that inquired about Troy Glaus when the Blue Jays were scouting Jack Wilson
  22. I just read this on rotoworld, very very tragic. Cant believe how that kid who hit that liner is feeling. Damn 35 years, leaving behind a wife & 2 kids with one more on the way in October
  23. The Sox still have 28 of the next 64 games games facing Baltimore and the inept pitching staff that is Tampa Bay I was excited to see this news, and was hoping this wouldve been the move made. Lopez yes has options but the Sox are better with him as the 2nd lefty in the pen. This only makes the 2nd best bullpen in baseball even stronger
  24. Garland this season on the road in 10 games, 4-2 with a 3.73 ERA Wakefield this season at home in 11 games, 7-4 with a 5.48 ERA
