    Lester has been allowing base runners and having high pitch counts early on in all 3 of his starts (including last year). The homerun ball has hurt him this year, already up to 4 in 16.2 innings pitched

    Drew has the day off tonight, as I said before they shouldve put him on the bereavement list. For the past week there has been 2 empty spots on the 25 man roster in Mike Timlin and JD Drew In the pre-game report, Gordon Edes said that part of the reasoning of giving Drew the day off was because a lefty was starting (same for other games when a lefty has started)... great 5 years/$70 million to a guy who needs to be platooned Lester this season on the road in 2 games, 1-0 with a 5.09 ERA

    Damn Wakefield is now tied for the lead for Wins in the AL, 13. Today he notched his 150th career win as a Sox, only Roger Clemens and Cy Young have done better (tied at 192). It was also his 75th career win at Fenway Park
