  1. Great signing by the Cubs Kosuke Fukodome will fill the vacant spot in right field. Felix Pie is set to be the opening day center fielder. Fukodome has the ability to shift to center field if Pie cant get it done
  2. I still cant believe that they passed up on Brady Quinn for Ted Ginn Jr.
  3. Difference between the Colts game and Pats game vs Baltimore Kyle Boller coughed up 3 interceptions and his running backs fumbled twice, and there was a safety. It seemed like all of them put the Colts in great field advantage. Heck the Colts won with Peyton throwing just 249 yards (13 completions) and no running game against the Baltimore D. The good teams will make you pay when you make mistakes, and that is just what Indy did During the Pats game, there was just 2 turnovers (1 interception, 1 fumble).
  4. If we're comparing starting pitching prospects-- Might as well replace Hansen & Delcarmen with Masterson & Bowden
  5. If Holliday is available, then happy trails Manny
  6. Im also expecting Milton Bradley and Trot Nixon to be named
  7. roto Career ERAs at AL East Parks Yankee Stadium (14 games)- 9.64 Fenway Park (11 games)- 7.00 Tropicana Field (11 games)- 5.52 Camden Yards (41 games)- 4.28 Rogers Centre (14 games)- 2.53
  8. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20071209&content_id=2321827&vkey=hotstove2007&fext=.jsp&partnered=rss_mlb Milton Bradley signs a 1 year/$5 million deal (plus incentives) with the Texas Rangers. This will be his 6th team in parts of 9 major league seasons. The site also states that the Rangers lost out on Latroy Hawkins, as it appears he is headed for the New York Yankees.
  9. We do get a supplemental 1st rounder for losing Gagne. I was just saying what first 2 picks the Sox will have in the draft. They have the 30th pick in the 1st round because they had the best record in baseball last year
  10. http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2007/12/08/gagne-deal-is-for-one-year.aspx Melvin is certainly taking his chances on 3 relievers coming off of bad years-- Gagne, Mota, Torres
  11. I scored couple tickets for the first yankees game
  12. lol, its now at $18.1 million. On sportscenter they said it went up to that figure so Jones could still get more per year than Hunter
  13. phew, now the Sox will have the 30th pick in the 1st round and a supplemental 1st rounder form the team that Gagne signs with roto I was thinking the Brewers right when Cordero jumped to the Reds.
  14. I will be surprised if Coco is the 4th outfielder on opening day
  15. Id rather Gagne NOT accept arbitration so the Sox can get that supplemental 1st round pick
  16. Have you seen the FA class for catchers in 2008 offseason? Its a very weak market, even the 2009 offseason is. A 2 year extension isnt out of the question
  17. http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/red_sox/index.php/2007/12/05/sox-shop-tavarez-wait-on-twins/ Tavarez is hoping to be traded to an NL team that will give him the chance to start. They may be looking for a bench player in return
  18. I heard on WEEI from Tony Maserotti that the Sox would probably start the negotiations at 5 years/$100 million Coming off the books after the 2008 season: --Manny's $20 million (Unless Sox activate option year) --Curt's expected $8 million (could go higher with incentives) --Jason Varitek's $10 million (Good chance Varitek will be resigned, but of course for less money) --Wakefield's $4 million (2008 could be his last year as well) --Timlin's $3 million --Alex Cora's $2.25 million That's roughly $47.25- million that is shed, not including any resignings and acquisitions this offseason & midseason
  19. Very cool thread to have on this site, appreciate it
  20. Congratulatiosn to the Tigers who did a hell of a splash, kudos as well to their FO for keeping it mum
  21. Kennedy- 3rd or 4th starter Lowrie- 2nd baseman that has same batting skills as Pedroia, but possible 15-20 HR power Masterson- Twins view him as a terrific set up man Hmm BTW Yankee fans, maybe the Yankees front office's tactics of negotiating really irked the Twins. I mean cmon they threatened to pursue tampering charges against Hank Steinbrenner
  22. damn... go Tigers
  23. http://www.bostondirtdogs.com/
  24. obviously the New York Ledger isnt in the know or just did a typo So far Tim Brown, Buster Olney and the Boston Globe are reporting that Jon Lester, Coco Crisp, Jed Lowrie and Justin Masteron is the reported deal EDIT: With their deadline passing, the Yankees are turning their attention toward Dan Haren http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2007/12/04/2007-12-04_sources_yankees_passing_on_johan_santana.html
  25. double post roto EDIT: The Boston Globe is also saying that indications, mind you, are that it is the recently proposed deal of Lester, Crisp, Lowrie and Masterson. It is not yet confirmed, but a deal is within striking distance The Yankees FO will have to change their ways if they think their harsh tactic including a laughable deadline for a trade in early december will get them what they want. A perfect Christmas gift for old Hank will be a muzzle.
