Dante Culpepper had a better completion percentage and more yardage against Buffalo than Brady did. Whether they lost to them or not, to use that to suggest that my argument in that regard is flawed is ignorant. But hey, it's expected from you. Culpepper just played his second regular season game in almost a year -- expect rust.
I knew you'd go to the Super Bowl officiating. Pittsburgh won the game, get over it -- I don't like it, and I imagine you don't either. But we want to talk about officiating? Let's talk about Ty Law's coverage on Marvin Harrison a few years back. No, no... that didn't prompt Tony Dungy to make ignorant comments -- it only prompted the league to change how strictly they call pass interference. Let's talk about an awful rule that allowed New England to beat Oakland. It wasn't a horrible call -- so you won by the rules. But you know that rule would be changed by now if the NFL didn't think it would take away from the Patriots Super Bowl win that year.
Polamalu is the best safety in the league and this happened at some point later in last season. Actually watch a Steelers game and count how many times he's within 5 yards of the tackle.
And the basis for my Ravens argument was Jamal Lewis against your platoon of RB's.
Though, if given the choice, I'd take 2,000 yards by Terrell Davis over about 2,000 by Mike Anderson and Tatum Bell in split action. Add to that they had the best offensive line in the league and point goes to Baltimore in that department. Lewis managed to reach 2,000 yards despite defenses being able to focus entirely on the run... that is an impressive running game.
The basis for that argument was the Ravens defense. Which was the best in league history. The team gave up 4,000 yards all season. The best Patriots defense during their "dynasty" gave up 5,000. The Ravens would've had to play four more games to equal the Patriots defenses total. That Ravens defense gave up 10 points per game. The Patriots defense at their best gave up 14. Based on their average, the Ravens would've had to play 7 more games to equal the total points the Patriots gave up. The Ravens defensive numbers that season put even the Bears' 1985 numbers to shame.
Don't judge your front four until you've played an O-Line. Buffalo and NY are easily bottom ten in the League in terms of offensive line. The Jets are bottom three. Hell, bottom one. I watched Junior Seau many times in Miami last season, though I didn't catch the Patriots game -- he certainly looked useless in teal and orange last season. Not one name in your secondary at this point scares any good WR... or QB.
You're the only one who has trouble distinguishing which team is mine. Let's see... I argue against the Pats and suddenly I'm a fan of whatever team I think is better than them? Name one person on this board who's ripped Roethlisberger harder than I have. I'm certainly no Steelers fan. And I still mantain that Denver was one play away from winning that game against Pittsburgh. If Champ Bailey could've caught that very catchable INT, he had a guarenteed TD and it would've changed everything -- 14 or 10 point swing considering Pittsburgh scored on that drive, I believe. As it was, Pittsburgh followed the blue print to beating the Broncos -- get ahead and force Plummer to win the game.
