  1. I'm pretty happy that Denver has been get to this game without giving much away the last two weeks. It's a thought I had after the Oakland game, and Bill Simmons mentioned the idea in his latest thread, that the Broncos came out with just enough to win. It's seriously looked like a High School playbook out there. Haven't given Indianapolis too much film to work with against our offense. I think that's been the reason for putting up the 13 and the 17 against Oakland and Cleveland respectively. Offense was able to move the ball very effectively, but after Elam missed a FG, we just sat on the 17 points. However... how good is this defense? Denver has become the first team since, I think, 1934 to win 5 straight games scoring 17 or less in each of them.
  2. Good day for Denver football. Broncos win with a watered down playbook so they don't give hardly anything away to Indy for next week. Chargers lose. Chargers lose the important key to their defense for four weeks. Won't be so easy to mask that weak secondary, now.
  3. Broncos just gave up their second touchdown of the year thanks to a Jake Plummer interception. Going into that series, Denver defense had been giving up 1.3 yards per play in the redzone.
  4. Impressive. Even though it was cold during Elam's attempt, he had the altitude and the wind at his back when he made it, so that's extremely impressive.
  5. I haven't seen it yet, but what an amazing way to win a football game. How much did he make it by?
  6. Miami - 20 Duke - 15 5:23 left, Duke ball and they've got momentum. Would losing this game be more or less embarassing than what transpired against FIU?
  7. Nevermind. Wrong thread.
  8. Well, apparently Telfair is suspected of some sort of involvement in the shooting of rapper Fabolous. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2632410
  9. Agreed. Personally, I think Telfair gives the Celtics a better chance to win basketball games. Then again, I haven't gotten to see the Celtics play in the preseason.
  10. Betting on the Bears is betting on Rex Grossman. Remember that, people.
  11. Haha, gotta love the front of ESPN.com... Earlier in the game it said "It's not a mirage in the desert. The Cardinals lead the Bears 23-3...". Now, it says "Arizona 23, Chicago 3? Turned out to be just a mirage in the desert."
  12. Amazing. You had to know the Bears offense has been playing way above their heads. Edgerrin James has, actually, been a terrible pickup for the Cardinals. You'd atleast expect him to convert on 3rd and 1 for the money he's making.
  13. Kornheiser's right. There's no hope for Arizona Cardinals football if they blow this game. Here's what we see a little bit of what Matt Leinart's made of. I'm pretty impressed, so far. edit: Touchdown, Devin Hester. 24-23 Chicago. Pathetic.
  14. What the hell is going on down in the desert? I wake up from my nap and it's 17-0 Cardinals. Now it's 20-0 to start the second half...
  15. Not a pretty win, and I wasn't really happy with the defensive gameplan too much, but we got the win. The problem with the Broncos offense this year is that it's basically as predictable as you can get. I thought the defense should've blitzed more and gotten after Walter. But they kept their bend and not break thing going and didn't allow a TD again. Champ had another huge pick. I don't care if you have Jesus Christ at Wide Reciever... if you keep testing Champ Bailey he'll make you pay eventually.
  16. My thoughts are with the Lidle family. Extremely sad news. RIP, Cory Lidle.
  17. The Nuggets are excercising their option on Karl. Personally, I don't care. As it stands now, I care only about how 'Melo does this year. This teams inability to recognize their need for a shooter and go out and get one is a huge turnoff. The incompetence of this front office is astounding -- even without Kiki.
  18. Just back from the Broncos/Ravens game. It was awesome. Something about being out in the elements and watching your team while you freeze your ass off just feels so great. I'll reiterate what I've said in the past... this Denver defense is extremely good. Each of the top 3 CB's had picks -- Bailey, Williams, and Foxworth's to close it out.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2617224 There you go.
  20. Just found out not too long ago that I'm going to the Monday Night game against the Ravens! As much as I love football, I've still never been to an NFL game!
  21. Of course she was in a panic. I never said she wasn't. I'm just saying she never once suggested suicide.
